U.S. U-17 Women’s National Team Falls to Spain 1-0 in Final Tuneup Before 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco

MARBELLA, Spain (Oct. 12, 2025) – The U.S. U-17 Women’s National Team fell 1-0 to Spain during its pre-tournament training camp in Spain ahead of the 2025 FIFA Women’s World Cup. This was the USA’s last tune-up before heading to Morocco for World Cup.

At the 2025 FIFA U-17 WWC, the USA was drawn into Group C and will face Ecuador (9 a.m. ET / 2 p.m. local time) in its first match on Saturday, Oct. 18. The USA will then face China PR on Tuesday, October 21 (Noon ET / 5 p.m. local) and finish group play against Norway on Friday, October 24 (9 a.m. ET / 2 p.m. local). All three of the USA’s Group C games will be played at the Football Academy Mohammed VI (Pitch 3) in Salè, which is just outside of the capital of Rabat. The matches will be available for viewing on FIFA+.

These two teams played two matches at the end of August in Alicante, Spain, a 2-0 U.S. win and a 0-0 draw.

The only goal in this match came in the seventh minute when Carolina Ferrera Torres converted a penalty kick.

The USA’s World Cup participation highlights the continuing the focus on the U.S. Way, which emphasizes increased programming for Youth National Teams to create more opportunities for young players to advance through the pathway to the senior National Team with the goal of representing their country at a world championship.
