U.S. Under-16 Girls’ National Team Will Come Together in Georgia for Training Camp

Head Coach Katie Schoepfer Names 24 Players for Camp, All Born in 2010

ATLANTA (Sept. 1, 2025) –The U.S. Under-16 Girls’ National Team will come together from Sept. 8-15 for a training camp in Fayetteville, Ga., the future home of the under-construction Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center.

The camp is part of the Federation’s continued focus on the U.S. Way philosophy, which emphasizes increased programming for Youth National Teams to create more opportunities for young players to advance through the pathway to the senior National Team with the goal of representing their country at a world championship.

Katie Schoepfer, the current head coach of the U.S. U-17 Women’s National Team who will take her squad to the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco this October. Schoepfer runs this camp as these players, all born in 2010, represent the core of the team that will compete to qualify for the 2027 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, a cycle which Schoepfer will head.

In September, current U.S. U-16 GNT head coach Ciaria Crinion will run her first camp with players born in 2009 as the U-17 WNT cycle begins for that age group, which will compete to qualify for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup — a cycle that Crinion will head. That training camp will be the one event for this age group of 2009-born U-17 WNT players before the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup, which has an age cut-off of players born on or after January 1, 2008.

This year marks the beginning of FIFA’s annual staging of this tournament (as opposed to biannually as it was in the past) and the FIFA U-17 WWC will be held in Morocco for the next five years.

Schoepfer has called up 24 players for their first training camp at the U-16 level after transitioning from U-15s over the summer.

Five players on this roster were on the U.S. U-15 GNT roster for two friendlies in Europe in June, a 1-1 tie with the Netherlands and a 2-2 draw with Germany.

Fully half the roster – 12 players – hail from Texas or California (six apiece) and the players come from 19 different clubs across the country with Solar SC out of Texas and the San Diego Surf placing three players each on the roster.
