CHICAGO (Feb. 12, 2025) – U.S. Under-19 Women’s National Team head coach Carrie Kveton has selected a 20-player roster for a trip to Spain from Feb. 15-27 that will include matches against the Netherlands, England and Spain U-19 Women’s National Teams at the L’Albir U-19 Women’s International Tournament.

Each team will play each other once with three points for a win and one point for a tie. The tiebreakers are goal difference, then goals scored and then Fair Play Ranking.

The USA will open the three-game set against the Netherlands on Thursday, February 20 at Estadio Rico Perez in Alicante, Spain. The young Americans will then take on England on Sunday, February 23 at Estadio Antonio Solana in Alicante and finish on Wednesday, February 26 vs. Spain at Estadio Guillermo Amor in Alicante.

Players born on or after Jan. 1, 2006, are age-eligible for this U-19 WNT cycle and the 2006 birth year will form the core of the team that will attempt to qualify for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland. This group players – all born in 2006 -- will transition to the U.S. U-20s in August of this year.

This roster features two of the youngest players on the USA’s 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Team in Stanford goalkeeper Caroline Birkel and Virginia midfielder Addison Halpern, neither of whom played in Colombia as the team raced to a third-place finish.

The roster features one professional player in forward Miri O'Donnell, who hails from Northern California and plays for Sporting CP in Portugal. The roster features 19 college players and O’Donnell. Fourteen of the 18 colleges players on the roster currently attend Stanford, Notre Dame, UCLA, Texas or 2024 NCAA Champion North Carolina.

Six players on this roster represented the U.S. U-19 WNT at the 2023 Pan American Games in Chile where a U.S. squad playing against senior Women’s National Teams and took home the bronze medal. Those players were defenders Elizabeth Boamah and Avan Alvarez, midfielders Eleanor Klinger and Grace Restovich, and forwards McDonald and Amalia Villarreal, who was the SEC Freshman of the Year in 2024 for the University of Texas when she scored nine goals with eight assists.

Villarreal scored four times at the Pan Am Games, McDonald tallied three times and Restovich scored once.

Defender Reese Klein was an alternate for the 2024 U-20 WWC Team and is also playing in the USL Super League with Ft. Lauderdale United FC for whom she has appeared in six matches and scored once.
