CHICAGO (July 22, 2024) – U.S. Soccer has announced the first two matches for the U.S. Women’s National Team following the 2024 Paris Olympics and those will take place against Iceland on Thursday, Oct. 24 at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas (7:30 p.m. ET / 6:30 p.m. CT on TBS, Max, Universo and Peacock) and on Sunday, Oct. 27 at GEODIS Park in Nashville, Tenn. presented by AT&T (5:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. CT on TNT, truTV, Max, Universo and Peacock).

The USWNT will play a third match during this FIFA window on Oct. 30 with the opponent and venue to be announced soon.

The match at Q2 Stadium, home of Austin FC in Major League Soccer, will be the 34th all-time match for the USWNT in the state of Texas, but just the third in Austin. The U.S. Women played the first-ever soccer match in the stadium’s history on June 16, 2021, a 2-0 victory over Nigeria in front of a sell-out crowd. The USA most recently played in Austin on April 8, 2023, a 2-0 win over the Republic of Ireland in front of another sell-out crowd. The USWNT has never lost or drawn a match in the state of Texas, going 33W-0L-0D so far.

Following the first game in Austin, the U.S. team will then head to Nashville for ninth all-time USWNT match in Tennessee, it’s fifth in Nashville and its second at GEODIS Park, home to Nashville SC in MLS. The U.S. Women made their debut at the venue in February of 2023 in a 1-0 win over Japan during the SheBelieves Cup. Mallory Swanson scored the game-winner.

Iceland, ranked 14th in the world and eighth in Europe, was free to play these matches due to its second-place finish in Group A4 of qualifying for the UEFA Women’s European Championships, thus qualifying for the Euros and avoiding the playoffs.

Iceland has been a rising team in Europe for the last decade and beat Germany, 3-0, on July 12 to secure its berth to the Euros. Iceland defeated Poland, 1-0, on July 16 to finish its qualifying group.

The USA last played Iceland on Feb. 23, 2022, a 5-0 win in Frisco, Texas in the final match of the SheBelieves Cup.
