Alyssa Naeher has 30 career shutouts and is the fifth goalkeeper to earn a shutout in a Women’s World Cup Final. After the matchup against Spain in Round of 16, she became the fourth goalkeeper in U.S. history to earn 50 caps has now moved past Nicole Barnhart to become the third-most capped goalkeeper in U.S. history. She will earn cap No. 57 tonight.
Casey Short has started 20 of her 30 games for the USA, playing mostly left back, but has also played some outside midfield and centrally. She earns cap No. 31 tonight in her 21st career start for the USA.
Becky Sauerbrunnwill earn cap No. 170today and makes her 21st appearance of the year.
Abby Dahlkemper will make her 23rd appearance of 2019 and earn her 53rd cap. She has played the most minutes of anyone this year with 1,787.
Emily Sonnett makes her 39 international appearance and her seventh start of 2019.
Julie Ertzwill earn her 94th cap. She currently has 19 international goals, the most recent coming against Chile on June 16, which was her first World Cup goal.
Rose Lavelle will earn her 37th career cap today and her 30th start. She has 10 international goals. She played in the first Victory Tour match against Ireland and played very well against South Korea on Oct. 3 and Oct. 6 but missed the matches against Portugal due to injury.
Lindsey Horan was sidelined from the final two Victory Tour games but returns to the lineup today making her 16th appearance of the year in her 78th cap. She has 12 international goals, her most recent one coming vs. Portugal on Sept. 3. She scored vs. Sweden in the final game group stage of the World Cup in June 20. Her goal came three minutes into the game.
Carli Lloyd will captain the USA today and will be making her eighth start this year. She has scored 13 goals in 2019, most on the team.
Tobin Heath has 32 career international goals, including 14 goals in her last 28 matches and 12 in her last 23. The 14 goals are 43% of her career total. She scored vs. Sweden in the group stage of the World Cup in June 20. She scored vs. Sweden in the final game of the group stage of the World Cup on June 20.
Christen Press has 128 caps, 49 career goals and 33 career assists. The Los Angeles native set up Tobin Heath’s goal in the first Victory Tour game on Aug. 3 at the Rose Bowl and Heath’s goal in the second Victory Tour game. She has four multi-assist games in 2019.
Press needs just one more goal to join 10 other American female players who have scored 50 career goals. She is in 12th place on the all-time WNT goals list. She also leads the USA in assists this year with 10, four more than any other player. Press is one of only two players to play in all 23 games so far this year for the USWNT.
Six players from the training camp roster – Morgan Brian, Allie Long, Adrianna Franch, Jessica McDonald, Aubrey Bledsoe, Alana Cook – will not dress for tonight’s game.
Five players from the 2019 World Cup championship team – Megan Rapinoe, Crystal Dunn, Ali Krieger, Tierna Davidson and Kelley O’Hara – were not available for selection to training camp due to injury while Alex Morgan is pregnant with her first child.
