Defender Eva Gaetino Called Up from U.S. Under-23 WNT Training Camp to Join USWNT Training Camp Roster for Matches Against Portugal and New Zealand

Addition of Gaetino, Who Has One USWNT Cap, Brings USWNT Roster to 26 Players for Final Two Games of October FIFA Window

Defender Eva Gaetino Called Up from U.S. Under-23 WNT Training Camp to Join USWNT Training Camp Roster for Matches Against Portugal and New Zealand

ATLANTA (Oct. 24, 2025) – Defender Eva Gaetino, who was participating in U.S. Under-23 Women’s National Team Training Camp this week outside of Philadelphia, has been called up to the U.S. Women’s National Team roster and will join the U.S. camp ahead of the final two matches of the FIFA window.

The USA will face Portugal on Sunday, Oct. 26 at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Conn. (4 p.m. ET on TNT, truTV and HBO Max in English, Universo and Peacock in Spanish and on the radio on Westwood One Sports) and then will take on New Zealand in Kansas City, Mo., on Wednesday, Oct. 29, in the team’s first-ever match at CPKC Stadium (8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT, on TNT, truTV and HBO Max in English on Universo and Peacock in Spanish and on the radio on Westwood One Sports and FDP Spanish radio). The match in Connecticut will be presented by Volkswagen.

U.S. head coach Emma Hayes had originally named 26 players for this camp, but with forward Trinity Rodman having to withdraw due to injury, a roster spot opened up and it has now been filled by Gaetino. The 22-year-old Michigan native was with the USA for the 2024 SheBelieves Cup, but did not see action, and then earned her first and thus far only cap in a 90-minute performance against Argentina on Oct. 30, 2024.

“This is the epitome of the value of the U-23 program,” said USWNT head coach Emma Hayes. “We have the U-23s training at the same site as the National Team, so we are easily able to call a player up and it’s important for the U-23s to know how much we value them. Eva is a player who has been in with the full team and in with the U-23s, but also out of both teams. No players’ journey is the same and certainly no one’s career takes a linear path. We gave Eva some pointed feedback over the past year, and she went back to her club, worked every day to get another chance at a call-up, and put into action things we wanted to see in her. She’s the most WNT-ready player in this U-23 camp so she’ll be a good addition to our training camp roster for the last week.”

The 5-foot-11 central defender out of Michigan is in her third season, but second full season, with Paris Saint-Germain in France’s Première Ligue after a banner college career at Notre Dame.
