  • Mauricio Pochettino starts the same lineup that began Sunday’s quarterfinal match against Costa Rica. It is the second time Pochettino has started the same XI in back-to-back matches during this Gold Cup, first doing so in the group stage matches against Trinidad and Tobago and Saudi Arabia.

  • Six starters have appeared for the USMNT in a Knockout Round semifinal: Chris Richards (3), Tyler Adams and Tim Ream (2 each), Patrick Agyemang, Luca de la Torre and Malik Tillman (1 each). Both Agyemang and de la Torre earn their first starts in a semifinal.
  • St. Louis native Tim Ream captains the USMNT for the 20th time tonight, tying him with Clint Dempsey for 11th on the team’s captains list. With the USMNT’s last match against Guatemala coming in 2016, Ream is also the only player on the roster to have previously faced Los Chapines.
  • Ream makes his 40th competitive appearance, while Tyler Adams makes his 30th appearance in official competition tonight.
  • Named Man of the Match in Sunday’s quarterfinal, Matt Freese became just the second USMNT goalkeeper to make three saves in a penalty shootout, joining Tony Meolawho did so in the 1991 Gold Cup final victory against Honduras.
  • In Sunday’s quarterfinal against Costa Rica, Max Arfsten became just the nine USMNT player and first defender to register a goal and assist in a knockout round match, joining the likes of Clint Dempsey and Landon Donovan (3 matches), DaMarcus Beasley, Aron Johannsson, Eddie Johnson, Brian McBride and Gio Reyna (1 match).
  • With his first career goal on Sunday, Diego Luna (1 goal, 4 assists) moved into a tie with Patrick Agyemang (5 goals) and Malik Tillman (3 goals, 2 assists) for the team lead in goal contributions in 2025.
  • Defender Alex Freeman is the third player age 20 or younger to start five consecutive matches for the U.S. at a Concacaf Gold Cup, following Chris Henderson (1991) and Landon Donovan (2002).
  • Chris Richards pairs with Ream in central defense for the 15th time tonight.
  • Luca de la Torre continues his career-best run with six consecutive starts for the USMNT.
  • Sebastian Berhalter has logged the full 90 minutes in each of his three Gold Cup appearances. 
  • In accordance with the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup Tournament Regulations, teams are permitted to dress 23 players. The three players not dressed tonight are Chris Brady, Johnny Cardoso and Haji Wright.
  • The USMNT is 16W-5L-6D all-time against Guatemala and 3W-0L-1D against Los Chapines in the Concacaf Gold Cup. The last meeting between the nations in the confederation championship came on June 7, 2007, a 1-0 U.S. win in the group stage. Tonight’s match marks the first time the teams have met in a knockout situation in the tournament.
