ATLANTA - (July 10, 2025) – U.S. Power Soccer National Team head coach Tracy Mayer has named a 12-player roster for the team’s upcoming training camp from July 11-21 at St. George’s Park in Burton-On-Trent, England. This camp is a key component of the Federation’s U.S. Way philosophy, which prioritizes strategic investment in resources, infrastructure, and holistic support for our Extended National Teams—including the Power National Team—to ensure they are equipped to compete and succeed at the highest levels of international play. The Power NT will use this camp to prepare for the upcoming 2025 APFC America’s Cup from November 14-20 in Phoenix, Arizona.
This month’s trip abroad is another historic step for the Power NT program, as it will play its first-ever international friendlies in a two-game series with England. The matches are set for Friday, July 18 (2 p.m. ET) and Sunday, July 20 (10 a.m. ET) at St. George’s Park.
The friendlies will serve as the latest chapter in the storied series between two of the top nations in Powerchair Football. In 2011, the USA defeated England 3-0 to claim its second FIPFA World Cup title, and six years later, the Power NT earned a 2-1 semifinal win at the 2017 World Cup in Kissimmee, Fla. Most recently, England defeated the USA 1-0 in the 2023 World Cup semifinal in Sydney, Australia. Overall, the USA holds a 4W-2L-0D record in six meetings with England.

This camp is the Power NT’s first meeting since the ADAPTandTHRIVE Invitational in March and encompasses the same 12 players that participated. Six players from the 2023 FIPFA Powerchair Football World Cup squad are part of this roster, includingRiley Johnson (Saint Cloud, Minn.), the team’s captain and back-to-back Power Soccer Player of the Year award winner in 2023 and 2024. The roster also features center Lexi Heer (Fishers, Ind.), who scored both goals in the 2-1 win over Argentina that secured the team’s third-place finish at the 2023 World Cup, and the team’s highest-capped player in Jordan Dickey (Pendleton, Ind.).
There are five uncapped players on Mayer’s squad in Jada Cano (Spring Beach, Texas), Ryan Connolly (San Jose, Calif.), Lindsay Muench (Campbellsport, Wis.), Michael Rayton (San Jose, Calif.), Chad Wilson (Chanhassan, Minn.), and David Dowling (Fort Wayne, Ind.).
The U.S. Way is intended to work in partnership with club teams across different disciplines of soccer to cultivate talent for the Federation’s National Teams and the United States Power Soccer Association (USPSA)robust club infrastructure has been a key piece in developing athletes for the Power NT. Most recently, all 12players on the July roster participated in the USPSA’s recent 2025 MK Battery Conference Cup Series in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Five players were part of the Minnesota Shockwave team that won the Premier Division: Nathan Mayer (Monticello, Minn), Muench, Wilson, Johnson, and Pete Winslow (Woodbury, Minn.). Dowling of the Turnstone Flyers finished runner-up in that 4-1final against Minnesota. StrikerZach Dickey (Pendleton, Ind.) was part of the Auburn University team that won the Champions Division. Additionally, Heer and Jordan Dickey of RHI Sudden Impact as well as Rayton of the San Jose Flash all helped their teams to the Premier Division semifinals.

About the U.S. Power Soccer National Team
Power Soccer is the first competitive team sport developed specifically for power wheelchair users and has been played internationally since 2007. The U.S. Power Soccer National Team features male and female athletes with disabilities that include quadriplegia, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, and cerebral palsy, among others. The game is played in a gymnasium on a regulation basketball court with four players who attack, defend, and spin-kick a 13-inch soccer ball in a skilled and challenging game similar to mainstream soccer.
The U.S. Power Soccer National Team are two-time FIPFA Powerchair Football World Cup champions, winning the first two competitions in 2007 and 2011, before earning a runner-up finish in 2017 and third place in 2023. The USA is also two-time APFC Copa América champions, winning both the 2014 and 2019 tournaments. Overall, the U.S. Power Soccer National Team has a 36W-4L-3D record since beginning play in 2007.
