  • NYCFC goalkeeper Matt Freese and Orlando City defender Alex Freeman become the ninth and tenth players to debut under Mauricio Pochettino. At 20 years, 303 days, Freeman is also the youngest player to earn his first cap under the USMNT head coach and first to do so during a FIFA window.
  • Having grown up just five minutes from Rentschler Field, East Hartford product Patrick Agyemang earns his team-leading fifth cap of 2025. Agyemang also leads the team with three goals this year.
  • Already with an assist in each of his past two appearances, Diego Luna also records his fifth cap for the Red, White and Blue.
  • Center back Chris Richards captains the USMNT for the second time tonight. The recently crowned FA Cup winner with Crystal Palace first wore the armband in the 1-1 draw with New Zealand on Sept. 10, 2024, in Cincinnati.
  • Richards and Miles Robinson pair in central defense for the eighth time tonight. The USA is 6W-1L-0D when the pair starts together and has won each of the past four matches.
  • Luca de la Torre earns his eighth career start and first since Nov. 20, 2023, at Trinidad and Tobago. It’s also de la Torre’s first appearance since the New Zealand match on Sept. 10, 2024.
  • Malik Tillman and Johnny Cardoso make their first appearances in 2025.
  • Both Max Arfsten and Jack McGlynn collect their first starts during a FIFA international window.
  • Agyemang, Arfsten, Freeman, Freese,and Tillman will all earn their first international appearances against opposition from UEFA.
  • Four starters made their debut in a January camp match: Luna and McGlynn (2024), Agyemang and Arfsten (2025).

  • In a series that dates back to a 1-1 draw on Sept. 4, 1991 in Istanbul, the USMNT is 2W-1L-1D all-time against Türkiye and has won each of the past two matches, winning by 2-1 scorelines on May 29, 2010 in Philadelphia and June 1, 2014 in Harrison, N.J. Türkiye’s lone win was also a 2-1, result, coming in the opening match of the FIFA Confederations Cup on June 19, 2003 in St. Etienne, France.
