  • USMNT Starting XI Caps (including this match): Matt Turner (52), Brenden Aaronson (48), Walker Zimmerman (44), Mark McKenzie (21), Johnny Cardoso (20), Brian White (6), Max Arfsten (5), Paxten Aaronson (2), Nathan Harriel (2), Quinn Sullivan (2), Sebastian Berhalter (1).
  • The Starting X Iaverages 18 caps and has an average age of 25 years, 246 days.
  • Mauricio Pochettino makes nine changes from the lineup that started Saturday’s match against Türkiye, with defender Max Arfsten and midfielder Johnny Cardoso as the two holdovers.
  • Midfielder Sebastian Berhalter will earn his USMNT debut tonight. The son of former U.S. international and USMNT head coach Gregg Berhalter, the Berhalters become the seventh father-son combination to play for the U.S. Men’s National Team.
  • Brothers Brenden and Paxten Aaronson both get the start tonight. Already one of 10 sets of brothers to represent the USMNT, the Aaronsons are the fourth brother duo to start the same match and do so almost 100 years to the day of the first instance when Archie and Tommy Stark started an away friendly at Canada on June 27, 1925, in Montreal. They’re joined by James and Russ Murphy (June 22 and July 6, 1957 vs. Canada), and George and Louis Nanchoff (Feb. 11, 1979 vs. Soviet Union).
  • The start marks Paxten Aaronson’s second career cap, and first appearance since Jan. 28, 2023, against Colombia.
  • Both Brenden Aaronson and Mark McKenzie started the last time the USMNT faced Switzerland, a 2-1 defeat on May 30, 2021, in St. Gallen. Aaronson provided the assist on Sebastian Lletget’s goal.
  • Standout Nashville SC center back Walker Zimmerman gets the start in his club’s home stadium. It’s his second start of 2025 and first in a FIFA window since the 2-0 win against Canada in the Concacaf Nations League Final on June 18, 2023, in Las Vegas.
  • The senior-most player in the Starting XI, goalkeeper Matt Turner captains the USMNT for the fifth time tonight. The USA is 1W-0L-3D when Turner wears the armband.
  • Forward Brian White collects his third career start and the first in a match during a FIFA window. With their starts, both White and Arfsten tie Patrick Agyemang for the team-lead in appearances during 2025 with five.
  • Zimmerman and Mark McKenzie pair in central defense for the second time. They last worked the middle together in the World Cup Qualifier at Panama on Oct. 10, 2021.
  • Having earned their debuts in Saturday’s match against Türkiye, the Philadelphia Union duo of defender Nathan Harriel and midfielder Quinn Sullivan collect their first starts tonight.
  • Two substitutes would earn their debuts if they come off the bench tonight: Chris Brady, Damion Downs
  • In a series that dates back to 1978, the USMNT is 1W-4L-4D in nine all-time meetings with Switzerland. Today’s match comes almost 21 years to the day of the USA’s historic 1-1 draw with the Swiss in the opener of the 1994 FIFA World Cup, the USMNT using Eric Wynalda’s 44th minute free kick to collect its first point in a World Cup since 1950 on June 18, 1994, at the Silverdome in Pontiac, Mich. The USMNT’s only victory in the series came off a late winner from Michael Bradley in a 1-0 decision on Oct. 17, 2007, in Basel, Switzerland.
  • The USMNT is 6W-2L-2D in 10 all-time matches in Nashville and earned a 4-0 win against Ghana in its only previous match at GEODIS Park, coming in a friendly on Oct. 17, 2023.
