Match Announcement USMNT vs Turkey and USMNT vs Switzerland

CHICAGO (March 10, 2025) – The U.S. Men’s National Team will take on strong European sides Turkey and Switzerland in a pair of important preparation matches ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on home soil.

The matches will provide the USMNT with one of its few opportunities to face European opposition before the World Cup and will serve as the team’s final tune-up before competing in the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup.

Nearly one year before the start of the World Cup, the USA will first host Turkey on June 7 at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Conn. Kickoff against the 2024 European Championship quarterfinalists is set for 3:30 p.m. ET, with the match broadcast live on TNT, truTV, Telemundo, and Universo and streamed on Max and Peacock.

Three days later, USA-Switzerland, presented by Coca-Cola, will serve as the Send-Off match ahead of the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup. GEODIS Park in Nashville, Tenn., hosts on June 10, with the match kicking off at 8 p.m. ET (7 p.m. local) and will be available on TNT, truTV, Max and Peacock.

Both matches will be carried live on radio as Westwood One Sports delivers English language commentary on USMNT matches for the first time while longtime partner Fútbol de Primera has the Spanish language call.

Fans can follow the USMNT on X (@USMNT), Instagram (@USMNT), Facebook and the official U.S. Soccer App.

TURKEY MATCH A DECADE IN THE MAKING

The USMNT has a 2W-1L-1D record against Turkey, with the series resuming after more than a decade. The last two meetings with the Crescent Stars also came ahead of big competitions, most recently June 1, 2014, when Fabian Johnson and Clint Dempsey scored in a 2-1 victory at Red Bull Arena ahead of the USA’s penultimate match before the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The USA also defeated Turkey 2-1 in Philadelphia on May 29, 2010, during their World Cup Send-Off Series. Turkey’s lone win in the series came during the 2003 FIFA Confederations Cup, a 2-1 win in St. Etienne, France.

SWISS IMPRECISION

The USMNT has struggled to get results against the Swiss, holding a 1W-4L-4D all-time record and without a single victory on U.S. soil (0W-3L-1D). The lone victory in the series came Oct. 17, 2007, when Michael Bradley’s late goal secured a 1-0 win in Basel. The teams met in their opening match of the 1994 FIFA World Cup, where Eric Wynalda’s 44th-minute free kick secured a 1-1 draw at the Pontiac Silverdome in Michigan.

Last time out, Switzerland snapped the USA’s nine-match undefeated streak when they captured a 2-1 win in St. Gallen. That game preceded the USMNT’s first trip to the Concacaf Nations League Final, in which they won the inaugural title and the two subsequent editions.

HARTFORD’S SOCCER LEGACY CONTINUES

Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field has hosted the USMNT eight times since 2005. The USA is 4W-1L-2D at the venue, including a crucial 1-0 victory against Trinidad and Tobago in a World Cup qualifying match on Aug. 17, 2005. The stadium has also been the site of a World Cup Send-Off match (2006), a Gold Cup group stage game (2013), and Landon Donovan’s farewell match in 2014. Overall, the team holds a 5W-2L-2D record in East Hartford.

NASHVILLE IS MUSIC TO OUR EARS

Nashville has become a reliable home for the USMNT, collecting a 5W-2L-2D record in the Music City. The city has played host to World Cup qualifiers, the Concacaf Gold Cup, and memorable performances, including Jozy Altidore’s historic hat trick in 2009 and Tyler Adams’ first international goal in 2018 against Mexico. This will be the USMNT’s second match at GEODIS Park, following a commanding 4-0 win against Ghana on Oct. 17, 2023.
