NASSAU, Bahamas (March 9, 2025) – The U.S. Men’s Beach Soccer National Team will look to qualify for its fourth consecutive FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup and win its second straight confederation crown at the 2025 Concacaf Beach Soccer Championship this week in the Bahamas.

Drawn into Group B, the USA will face Trinidad and Tobago on Tuesday, March 11 (6 p.m. ET; FS2, ViX), host Bahamas on Wednesday, March 12 (8 p.m. ET; FS2, ViX) and Panama on Thursday, March 13 (6 p.m. ET; FS2, ViX). The top two teams from each group advance to the semifinals on Saturday, March 15, with the winners of those matches qualifying for the 2025 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup to be held May 1-11 in Seychelles, but also play for the Concacaf title the following day. All matches will be played at the Malcolm Park Beach Soccer Stadium in Nassau.

CANALE ON THE VERGE OF 100

First appearing for the U.S. Men’s Beach Soccer National Team in 2013, attacker Alessandro Canale heads to the 2025 Concacaf Beach Soccer Championship just four caps away from earning 100. Should he appear in all three group stage matches and the USA advances from its group, the Venice Beach, Calif. product would follow Chris Toth as just the second U.S. Beach Soccer athlete to hit the century mark when the team plays in the tournament semifinal on March 15, which also serves as the World Cup-clinching match for the winning side.

With 72 goals in 96 appearances, Canale is the Beach MNT’s second all-time leading scorer and has already made plenty of history on the sand. One of only three players to represent the USA at four FIFA Beach Soccer World Cups (2013, 2019, 2021, 2024), Canale’s 12 goals in 12 caps at the World Cup ranks him first in both categories for the Beach MNT. Headed to his sixth Concacaf Beach Soccer Championship in March, Canale has 25 goals in 29 appearances at the confederation tournament, also ranking him second in Beach MNT history.

HISTORY VS. GROUP OPPONENTS

Trinidad and Tobago

The USA has a perfect 5-0 record against the Soca Warriors, with three of those matches coming in the group stage at the last four Concacaf Beach Soccer Championship tournaments. In 2017, Alessandro Canale’s brace helped lead the U.S. to a 5-1 win in Nassau, Bahamas. In 2021, Canale registered another brace, while Chris Toth and Gabe Silveira also added goals in a 5-2 victory in Alajuela, Costa Rica. Most recently in 2023, a Nico Perea double, coupled with goals from Silveira, Chris Albiston and Ricardo Carvalho, handed the USA a 6-2 victory in the Bahamas.

Bahamas

The USA is 7-1 all-time against the Bahamas and a perfect 6-0 against the Baha Boyz in Concacaf Beach Soccer Championship play dating back to 2009. In 2017, Canale and Toth both scored goals in a 4-2 victory in a placement match in Nassau. In 2019, Tanner Akol’s brace helped lift the USA to a 3-2 victory and first in the group en route to the team’s first World Cup qualification in six years.

Panama

The USA is 3-1 all-time against Panama and 2-1 in Concacaf Beach Soccer Championship play. In 2017, Toth scored two goals but the USA ultimately fell 6-4 in the quarterfinals of the tournament as Panama went on to qualify for its first and only FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup appearance. The USA avenged that defeat four years later, as a third-period brace from Silveira combined with goals from Chris Albiston and Nico Perea gave the Beach MNT a 4-3 quarterfinal victory in Alajuela, Costa Rica. Most recently, goals from Canale, Silveira and Toth pushed the USA to a 5-1 group stage win during the 2023 edition in Nassau, Bahamas.

ADDITIONAL ROSTER NOTES

  • With an average of 46 caps, the roster includes 10 of the 12 players who helped the United States win the 2023 Concacaf Beach Soccer Championship. It is also the same 12-player roster that represented the USA at the 2024 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
  • Goalkeeper Chris Toth is named to the Beach MNT roster for an 11th major tournament (World Cup and Concacaf), and seventh Concacaf Beach Soccer Championship, tying Francis Farberoff for the most major tournament and Concacaf selections in team history.
  • Veteran attacker Alessandro Canale also earns his 10th major tournament selection (4 World Cup, 6 Concacaf), becoming just the third Beach MNT player to hit double-digit major rosters after Farberoff and Toth.
  • Currently on 96 caps, Canale is in line to join Toth as the second Beach MNT player to earn 100 appearances if the USA advances to the semifinal on March 15.
  • Concacaf Beach Soccer Championship rosters and caps for the full squad: Toth (7 rosters; 35 caps), Canale (6 rosters; 29 caps), Chris Albiston, Antonio Chavez, Nico Perea, Conner Rezende, Gabe Silveira (3 rosters, 12 caps), Tanner Akol, Ricardo Carvalho and Cody Valcarcel (2 rosters, 6 caps), Austin Collier (2 rosters, 5 caps).
  • Andres Navas is the lone player making his first Concacaf Beach Soccer Championship roster.
  • Gabe Silveira contributed eight goals and four assists at the 2023 Concacaf Beach Soccer Championship, a performance that lifted him to U.S. Soccer’s Male Beach Player of the Year award.
  • Three players are on Major Arena Soccer League rosters. Alessandro Canale and Chris Toth play for Tacoma Stars, while Ricardo Carvalho features for Milwaukee Wave.
