SALOU, Spain (November 17, 2024) – The U.S. Women’s CP National Team bounced back from Saturday’s 3-1 loss to Australia with a dominant 16-0 win against Denmark in its third group stage match of the 2024 IFCPF Women’s World Cup. The result means the CP WNT can guarantee its place in the 2024 World Cup Final with a win against Japan in Monday’s group finale (5 a.m. ET; IFCPF YouTube).

Head coach Tricia Taliaferro switched up her lineup for Sunday’s game, handing Rebecca Ostrander, Annie Wickett, Joey Martin and Kaia Spencer their first starts of the tournament. Leah Glaser, who was the goalkeeper in both previous matches, also collected her first start as a field player.

Wickett opened the scoring in the third minute, collecting the first of three goals and ending the match with her third career hat trick. Spencer led the scoring with five goals, Martin also bagged a hat trick and Glaser added two goals of her own.

Substitute Cassidy Leake bagged a brace and Michelle Cross also collected a goal off the bench.

Ostrander made two saves to earn her first career shutout.

Sitting second in the five-team group, the USA (2W-1L-0D), closes out the group stage on Monday, Nov 18 against Japan (5 a.m. ET; IFCPF YouTube), with a win guaranteeing the team’s return to the 2024 IFCPF World Cup Final on Tuesday.
