CHICAGO (Feb. 5, 2024) – U.S. Soccer today announced that two-time Olympic gold medalist and advocate Aly Raisman will headline the lineup of diverse and accomplished speakers at the 2024 SheBelieves Summit, presented by Deloitte*. The event will take place at Venue SIX10 in Chicago on April 27 and 28, with Raisman’s featured session set for the first day.
The two-day Summit will feature speakers from sports, business and beyond, and consist of panels, breakouts sessions, and networking opportunities designed to empower and motivate attendees to define and achieve their desired futures. Registration for the event will open on Friday, Feb. 9.
Aly Raisman, team captain of the gold medal winning USA Women’s Gymnastics teams in 2012 and 2016, is the third-most decorated American gymnast of all-time. The most decorated U.S. gymnast at the 2012 Games, Raisman captured the hearts of millions as she became the first American to win gold on the floor exercise. One of only three U.S. gymnasts to make back-to-back teams in more than 20 years, she helped guide the team to gold and landed a silver medal performance in the All-Around competition at the 2016 Games.
A leader on and off the floor, Raisman uses her platform to help normalize the conversation around mental health, encourage positive body image and promote the importance of self-care. In her New York Times best-selling memoir, Fierce, she shares the highs and lows of her journey, including her survival of sexual abuse. Inspired by an army of survivors, Raisman continues to advocate for systematic changes within the sport of gymnastics and the eradication of sexual abuse.
Raisman’s second published work and first children’s book, From My Head to My Toes, will be available on April 2. From My Head to My Toes gently introduces young readers to the topics of consent and bodily autonomy in a positive way. Cheerful and informative, this story focuses on the powerful message of self-love. Her inspiring words are paired with expert-vetted resources, giving adults the tools to begin having these essential conversations with kids from a young age.
In its ninth year, the SheBelieves platform continues to grow into one of the largest women-focused platforms across the world. With the goal of inspiring the next generation, U.S. Soccer and Deloitte will provide a group of college-aged students and young professionals with the opportunity to learn from and network with industry professionals.
The theme of the Summit this year is HER Future, which seeks to equip attendees with the skills to confidently define and pave their unique paths forward. In addition to panels, breakout sessions led by Deloitte and other U.S. Soccer partners will focus on professional skills, financial literacy, and mental health and wellbeing.
The event registration fee is $50 and includes admission to the two-day Summit, all meals, professional headshots, a gift bag, and access to the Attendee Happy Hour on Saturday and SheBelieves Networking Brunch on Sunday.
The full list of speakers, panelists, and specific breakout sessions for the 2024 SheBelieves Summit will be announced at a later date.
