CHICAGO (Aug. 4, 2023) – The Semifinals and Final of the 2023 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup will be broadcast far and wide throughout the United States and across the globe. In yet another milestone in the growth of U.S. Soccer’s National Championship, U.S. Soccer has secured wide-ranging domestic and international TV distribution for the exciting conclusion of the historic tournament’s 108th edition.

The breadth of international distribution will place U.S. Soccer’s championship on more stages, providing fans around the globe with access to high-stakes matches via direct-to-consumer streaming. The tournament-defining games will be broadcast by more than 20 international broadcasters reaching over 100 countries on five continents.

The international distribution of the 2023 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup was secured by global sports marketing agency SPORTFIVE, which in April partnered with the U.S. Soccer Federation to help grow the international media presence for the Federation’s teams and competitions.

Domestically, CBS Sports will continue to lead coverage as the exclusive English language broadcast home of the 2023 U.S. Open Cup. The Semifinals on Wednesday, Aug. 23 will stream for free on CBS Sports Golazo Network and Paramount+.

Live match coverage of the two high-stakes contests, which will mark the debut of VAR in the U.S. Open Cup, will begin at 7 p.m. ET as MLS Supporters Shield leaders FC Cincinnati host Inter Miami CF and new talisman Lionel Messi. The action continues with 2018 Open Cup champions Houston Dynamo welcoming ascendant Real Salt Lake at 9:30 p.m. ET to determine which teams will go head-to-head for the longest-contested title in American soccer.

The 2023 U.S. Open Cup Final, which is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 27, will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network and Paramount+. In addition to live match coverage, CBS Sports Golazo Network will provide in-depth analysis across its flagship weekday morning show Morning Footy and weekday afternoon show Box 2 Box. CBS Sports will also provide additional editorial coverage, including on CBSSports.com and the CBS Sports App.

Additional coverage details, including those for the Open Cup Final, will be announced at a later date.

About the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup

In its 108th edition, the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup – U.S. Soccer's National Championship – has crowned a champion annually since 1914 (with the exception of 2020 & 21 due to COVID-19). The history-filled tournament is conducted on a single-game, knockout basis and open to all professional and amateur teams affiliated with U.S. Soccer. In 1999, the competition was renamed to honor United States soccer pioneer Lamar Hunt. The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup is the oldest ongoing national soccer competition in the United States and the world's third-longest continuously run national cup tournament.

The 2023 U.S. Open Cup winner will earn $300,000 in prize money, a berth in the 2023 Concacaf Champions Cup and have the club’s name engraved on the Dewar Challenge Trophy – one of the oldest nationally-contested trophies in American team sports – now on permanent display at the National Soccer Hall of Fame in Frisco, Texas. The runner-up will earn $100,000, while the team that advances the farthest from each lower division takes home a $25,000 cash prize.
