Alyssa Naeher has 34 career shutouts and makes her 62nd appearance tonight. She is the third-most capped goalkeeper in U.S. history. Naeher’s last game against England was one to remember as she saved a penalty kick in the 84th minute to preserve the 2-1 U.S. victory in the World Cup semifinal.
Kelley O’Hara makes her 130th appearance for the USWNT today. She had the assist on the first goal, scored by Christen Press, against England in the World Cup Semifinal. She played in four of the five matches in the Concacaf Olympic qualifying tournament.
Abby Dahlkemper will start the 52nd game of her 59 overall caps tonight. She played in all five games at Concacaf Olympic Qualifying, starting four.
Becky Sauerbrunn will make her 175th appearance for the USWNT tonight. She becomes the 16th female player in U.S. history to reach that mark and just the second to play almost exclusively as a defender .
Crystal Dunn is the only player to start the first five games of the year and earns cap No. 101 tonight. She became the 39th player in USA history to reach the century mark. The New York native will be honored for the achievement at the SheBelieves Cup match against Spain on March 8 in Harrison, N.J.
Julie Ertz makes her 100th appearance for the USA tonight, becoming the 40th woman in USWNT history to hit the century mark. She will be honored for the achievement at a match later in the year. In a UK twist, she debuted for the USA in 2013 against Scotland and will get cap 100 against England.
Rose Lavelle will make her 43rd international appearance tonight in her 36th start. This match marks the third anniversary of her first USWNT cap which she earned on March 4, 2017 at the SheBelieves Cup against England.
Lindsey Horan scored her first career USWNT hat trick – and first multi-goal game for the National Team – against Panama on Jan. 31 during Olympic Qualifying, and also had two assists. She led the USA in scoring at Olympic Qualifying with six goals and now has 18 for her career. She will earn cap No. 84 tonight.
After scoring on an epic no-look finish against Panama during Olympic Qualifying, Tobin Heath has 33 career international goals, which includes 15 goals in her last 33 matches and 13 in her last 28. The 15 goals are 45% of her career total. She has 40 career assists, moving past Lauren Holiday and into 13th place on the USA’s all-time assist list. She will earn cap No. 166 tonight.
Carli Lloyd earns her 292nd cap tonight, putting her eight short of becoming the third player in U.S. history to reach 300 caps. She has scored four goals in her six games under Vlatko Andonovski so far. Her 122 career international goals put her eight short of tying Kristine Lilly for third on the all-time U.S. goal scoring list.
Christen Press scored in all three group games of Olympic Qualifying, including a pair of golazos vs. Costa Rica, and then tallied a magical goal in the semifinal against Mexico. She had scored in six consecutive games dating back to the final two matches of 2019 but did not tally in the Olympic Qualifying championship game. She will earn cap No. 136 today and has 56 career goals. Press was the first player to score in six straight games since Carli Lloyd did so in 2014 when she scored in seven consecutive games.
