  • Today’s Starting XI has an average age of 25 years, 131 days and 15 caps.

  • USMNT head coach Gregg Berhalter makes five changes from Wednesday’s match against Jamaica, inserting defenders Nick Lima and Aaron Long, midfielder Weston McKennie, and forwards Gyasi Zardes and Tyler Boyd.

  • With the start, Tyler Boyd earns his USMNT debut today vs. Venezuela.

  • Making his 10th appearance today, Zack Steffen becomes the 12th USMNT goalkeeper all-time to earn double-digit caps. With 498 days since his debut last January, the 24-year-old is also the second fastest USMNT goalkeeper to reach 10 caps, following only Brad Friedel. The three-time World Cup veteran collected his 10th appearance in 1993, 290 days after his debut the previous year.

  • Steffen’s 10th cap also comes one year to the day after his Budweiser Man of the Match performance in a 1-1 draw with eventual World Cup champions France in their last game before departing for Russia.

  • Wil Trapp captains the side for the ninth time tonight. Trapp is the fifth different player to wear the armband in the six matches under USMNT head coach Gregg Berhalter.

  • With the starts tonight, Paul Arriola and Wil Trapp remain the only players to appear in all six matches for the USMNT in 2019.

  • Tim Ream is the only player in the starting XI to appear in the USA’s last match with Venezuela, a 1-1 draw on June 3, 2017 in Sandy, Utah.

  • Five players are tied to European clubs: Steffen (Manchester City), McKennie (Schalke), Ream (Fulham), Miazga (Chelsea), Boyd (Vitória Guimarães).

  • Six players are currently with MLS clubs: Trapp and Zardes (Columbus Crew SC), Arriola (D.C. United), Roldan (Seattle Sounders FC), Lima (San Jose Earthquakes), Long (New York Red Bulls).

  • In five all-time matches, the USA holds an unbeaten 3-0-2 record against Jamaica.

  • Michael Bradley, Jonathan Lewis and Christian Pulisic are not in the matchday squad today. Teams are allowed six substitutions.
