- Dave Sarachan makes nine changes to the starting XI that faced Colombia, with midfielders Kellyn Acosta and Tim Weah as the two holdovers from Thursday.

- The most senior player in the lineup, goalkeeper Brad Guzan makes his first appearance since Sept. 5, 2017 at Honduras.
- Guzan is the lone starter that has experience against Peru, minding the net in the MNT’s 2-1 defeat of La Blanquirroja on Sept. 4, 2015 in Washington, D.C.
- Wil Trapp returns to the lineup to captain the side. The midfielder makes his team-leading seventh appearance of 2018.
- Upon the opening whistle, the number of MNT debutantes in 2018 will rise to 19, as Dave Sarachan hands Jonathan Amon, Reggie Cannon and Aaron Long their international debuts.
- Amon, Cannon and Long join Ben Sweat as the four players making their first starts for the MNT tonight.
- With matches against England and Italy still to play next month, the 2018 debut total is already the third most of the modern era (1990-present) behind 1992 (21) and 2007 (20).
- At age 19, Jonathan Amon becomes the sixth teenager to appear for the MNT in 2018, the most of any calendar year during the modern era. He joins Tyler Adams, Josh Sargent and Tim Weah, as well as recently-turned 20-year olds Weston McKennie and Christian Pulisic.
- Amon and Cannon take the total of 2018 MNT debutantes that are eligible for the 2020 Summer Olympics to nine, while 11 players did so at age 22 or under.

- Already making his seventh MNT appearance, 18-year-old Tim Weah has the fourth-most caps of the USA starting XI. In Thursday’s defeat to Colombia, Weah (18 years, 232 days) became the third-youngest player in the modern era to register an assist, coming in behind only Christian Pulisic (17 years, 349 days) and Juan Agudelo (18 years, 197 days).
- Josh Sargent earns his second career start. The 18-year-old became the second-youngest MNT player to score in his debut (also his first start) in the 3-0 win against Bolivia on May 28 in Chester, Pa.
- Should he appear in tonight’s match, midfielder Michael Bradley will earn his 142nd cap, which would move him into sole possession of third on the MNT’s all-time appearance list. Currently tied with Clint Dempsey, the pair sit behind only Cobi Jones (164) and Landon Donovan (157).
- Sarachan deploys a four-man back line with Carter-Vickers and Long pairing in central defense, while Cannon (right), Sweat (left) line up as full backs.
- The five-man midfield features Trapp in the central holding role behind Acosta and Delgado, with Weah on the right and Amon on the left.
- Sargent starts up top as the lone striker.
- The MNT holds a 3-2-1 all-time advantage against Peru.

- Tonight marks the MNT’s seventh match at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field. The USA holds a 4-1-1 all-time record and last defeated Ghana 2-1 in a Gold Cup warm-up match on July 1, 2017.
