U.S. Soccer Announces 2018 SheBelieves Internship Program

CHICAGO (March 8, 2018) – U.S. Soccer, along with several of its partners, will launch an internship program in 2018 as part of the SheBelieves initiative. U.S. Soccer will provide four SheBelieves internships, Continental Tire will provide four, Northwestern Medical will provide one, Hisense will provide one and the National Women’s Soccer League Media will provide one. In addition to regular intern responsibilities, this internship will be a part of the SheBelieves Network, consisting of several interns across the country and individuals who are dedicated to personifying the SheBelieves movement.

“We're happy to partner with the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team and support the SheBelieves Internship program by offering summer internships at three of our U.S. locations,” said Rick Ledsinger, vice president of Human Relations at Continental. “At Continental, we recognize the importance of diversity in our workforce and know women play a key role in the future of mobility. We're excited to see what these young women will accomplish this summer.”

The SheBelieves platform aims to inspire and encourage young women and girls to accomplish their dreams both on the field and off. This exciting platform includes the SheBelieves Cup, SheBelieves Hero, and additional programs with the goal of positively impacting their lives. Through SheBelieves, U.S. Soccer aims to instill in every young woman and girl self-confidence and positive action towards being their best self.

At the conclusion of the internship, each intern will be invited to a participate in a celebratory wrap-up gathering at a time and location to be determined.
