2015 was year one of the four-year cycle building towards the 2018 FIFA World Cup. During the transition year for the MNT, results didn’t always meet goals but there was plenty accomplished as the team is rebuilding towards Russia. Look back at the most notable numbers from the U.S. MNT’s 2015 campaign:

100 – Michael Bradley became the fourth youngest player in MNT history to earn 100 caps on July 7 vs. Honduras

49 – A grand total of 49 different players were rostered by the USA in 2015

43 – Jurgen Klinsmann tied Bob Bradley for second on the USA’s all-time coaching wins list at 43

42 – The MNT scored 42 goals in 2015, marking the fourth-highest tally in team history (2013 – 51, 1993 – 45, 2009 – 43)

26 – MLS was the most widely-represented league for the MNT in 2015, with 26 players earning a cap

19 – DeAndre Yedlin and Gyasi Zardes tied for the team lead with 19 appearances; the 19 caps for Zardes are the most by a MNT player in their first year since Claudio Reyna in 1994

12 – Jozy Altidore tied Eddie Johnson for second on the USA’s all-time list in World Cup qualifying goals with 12 scored

9 – The MNT posted a nine-game unbeaten streak from March 31 to July 21, marking the second-longest unbeaten run under Klinsmann. Going 8-0-1, the USA won back-to-back road games against sixth-ranked Netherlands and defending World Cup champion Germany.

9 – Clint Dempsey scored a career-high nine goals and tied Eric Wynalda (1996) and Landon Donovan (2007) for the most in a single year for the USA

7 – Dempsey notched seven goals in the Gold Cup to earn the tournament’s Golden Boot

6 – Six players scored their first goal in 2015: Morris, Zardes, Danny Williams, Wood, Timmy Chandler and Omar Gonalez

6 – Bradley tallied a career-high six assists, besting the five he had in 2015

4 – Wood became the first MNT player age 23 or younger to tally four goals in a calendar year since Bradley and Altidore in 2009

3 – The USA recorded its third all-time win against a team ranked No. 1 in the world against Germany on June 10 (Brazil in 1998, Spain in 2009)

2.1 – The MNT scored 2.1 goals per game in 2015, which ranks second for the USA in the modern era (2013 – 2.22)

2 – The number of consecutive matches Wood scored game-winning goals and Bradley earned Man of the Match honors; both were against Netherlands and Germany
