NATIONAL TEAM HIGHLIGHTS
- Started both matches of the 2019-20 Concacaf Nations League finals, registering a goal and assist in the 3-2 win vs. Mexico on June 6, 2021 to claim the inaugural championship.
- Scored via penalty kick in the 4-0 win against Costa Rica on June 9, 2021, making him the youngest USMNT player to convert a spot kick (18 years, 208 days).
- Scored his first USMNT goal, in a 6-2 win against Panama on Nov. 16, 2020. At 18 years, 3 days, Reyna became the third youngest goal scorer in USMNT history after Christian Pulisic (17 years, 253 days) and Juan Agudelo (17 years, 359 days)
- Made his USMNT debut on November 12, 2020 – the day before his 18th birthday -- in a friendly at Wales
- Voted the 2020 U.S. Young Male Player of the Year Award winner

CLUB HIGHLIGHTS
- On May 14, 2021, Reyna made a substitute appearance to help Dortmund win the DFB-Pokal, beating Tyler Adams and RB Leipzig, 4-1 in the final and become the third U.S. international to claim the German Cup.
- At 17 years and 350 days, became the youngest American to start in the UEFA Champions League in Dortmund's 2-0 group stage win against Zenit St. Petersburg (October 28, 2020), breaking Christian Pulisic's record set for the same club in 2016 by just 12 days.
- Became the youngest player in Bundesliga history to make 50 league appearances, breaking the record previously held by Kai Havertz
- Started playing in the New York City FC Academy at age 12, where his father served as technical director at the time

- Full name is Giovanni Alejandro Reyna
- His father Claudio earned 112 caps with the U.S. Men’s National Team and is one of only three USMNT players to make four different World Cup rosters, captaining the squad at the 2002 and 2006 World Cups
- His mother Danielle played for the U.S. Women’s National Team as well as won four national championships at the University of North Carolina
- With Gio’s USMNT debut on Nov. 12, 2020, the Reynas became the first family to have a father, son and child all appear for U.S. Soccer’s senior national teams
- Named after Giovanni van Bronckhorst, whom Claudio played with at Scottish giants Rangers FC.
