Full name is Giovanni Alejandro Reyna
His father Claudio earned 112 caps with the U.S. Men’s National Team and is one of only three USMNT players to make four different World Cup rosters, captaining the squad at the 2002 and 2006 World Cups
His mother Danielle played for the U.S. Women’s National Team as well as won four national championships at the University of North Carolina
With Gio’s USMNT debut on Nov. 12, 2020, the Reynas became the first family to have a father, son and child all appear for U.S. Soccer’s senior national teams
Named after Giovanni van Bronckhorst, whom Claudio played with at Scottish giants Rangers FC.
