U.S. Under-15 Boys’ National Team Falls to Mexico in Final of 2025 Concacaf Boys U-15 Championship

ALAJUELA, Costa Rica (Aug. 10, 2025) – After navigating to the top of Group B and earning a dramatic shootout victory against Panama in the semifinal, the U.S. Under-15 Boys’ National Team put in a strong effort but ultimately fell 5-0 to Mexico in the 2025 Concacaf Boys U-15 Championship Final on Sunday.

Following even play through the first quarter-hour, Mexico began to put its stamp on the match and first broke through via a goal from Juan Carlos Martinez Jr. In the 16th minute. That strike was the first of a four-goal barrage over seven minutes, with El Trí tallying through Paxton Ruffin (20th minute) and Davian Kimbrough (22nd minute), before Martinez Jr. added a second goal in the 23rd minute to take Mexico into the half with a 4-0 lead.

The U.S. had the better of the play early in the second half but couldn’t break through. As time ticked on, Mexico found one more goal, as Lisandro Torres let loose on a rocketing shot in the 66th minute to cap the score at 5-0.

With the result, the USA finishes as runner-up at the Concacaf Boys U-15 Championship, having previously won the tournament in 2023.

The U-15 BNT's participation in the competition reflects U.S. Soccer’s ongoing commitment to the U.S. Way , which emphasizes enhanced programming for Youth National Teams. The goal is to create more opportunities for young players to progress through the development pathway and ultimately represent the senior National Team on the global stage.
