The MLS All-Star Game kicks off July 23 with the Skills Challenge on July 22.

The U.S. Men’s National Team will be well represented at the 2025 MLS All-Star Game.

Seven players from the recent Concacaf Gold Cup squad were named to the All-Star team, and all but former Charlotte FC forward Patrick Agyemang — who recently transferred abroad to Derby County — will meet in Austin, Texas for the league’s annual event on July 23.

Diego Luna, Sebastian Berhalter, Alex Freeman and Brian White were voted in, while Max Arfsten and Miles Robinson were coaches’ selections.

Here’s a look back at why they became MLS All-Stars:

Diego Luna, Real Salt Lake

Diego Luna Real Salt Lake

In his fourth season in the league, Luna earned his second MLS All-Star spot. The midfielder will also compete in the MLS Skills Challenge on July 22. He’s recorded eight goals and four assists for the club this season, matching his career-high in scores from 2024.

Luna was an integral part of the USMNT’s Gold Cup Final run, where he tallied three goals and four assists. His total of seven goal contributions in 2025 leads the National Team this year.

Luna has started every one of his 18 appearances for Salt Lake this season. He’s only played for the Utah club since he transferred from the USL Championship’s El Paso Locomotive. He had a breakout season in 2024, recording eight goals and 12 assists, which coincided with his first senior National Team call-up. On both levels, the 21-year-old continues to find new heights.

Sebastian Berhalter, Vancouver Whitecaps FC

Berhalter will become a first-time All-Star in his sixth season in the league and his fourth with Vancouver. In addition, he'll appear in the Skills Challenge.

The midfielder has started 14 of 17 games this season, tallying two goals and four assists. He scored his second, tying a career-high, in his most recent outing against the Houston Dynamo. Berhalter became an important part of the starting lineup this season as the Whitecaps aim for the Supporters’ Shield.

Similarly, he also became an important part of the USMNT this summer. Berhalter started every game of the Gold Cup after earning his first National Team call-up. He recorded two assists in the tournament, both on set pieces, which proved to be a strength for the 24-year-old.

Alex Freeman, Orlando City SC

Alex Freeman Orlando City SC

Freeman played just three games in his first two seasons with the Lions, but he broke out in his third season, netting four goals and three assists on top of becoming a quality defender for Orlando City SC and earning All-Star honors for the first time in his burgeoning career.

He started every game for the red, white and blue in this summer’s tournament as one of the youngest players on the roster at 20 years old, helping the United States keep back-to-back clean sheets in the group stage. Freeman will also appear in the Skills Challenge on Tuesday.

Miles Robinson, FC Cincinnati

Max Arfsten, Columbus Crew

Arfsten is also a first-time MLS All-Star. The third-year midfielder has recorded four goals and three assists this season for Columbus, already matching his career-high in goals at the season’s halfway point.

He’s started all 18 appearances this season for Columbus as The Crew vie for a top-4 spot in the Eastern Conference. While Arfsten was on international duty this summer, he started seven games for the USMNT, and all but one in the Gold Cup.

Fresh off the confederation tournament, Arfsten recorded his fourth goal in his return to MLS action, contributing to the Crew’s resilient 4-2 come-from-behind win over Eastern Conference contender FC Cincinnati.

Brian White, Vancouver Whitecaps FC

Brian White Vancouver Whitecaps

One of the most prolific strikers this season, White was named to the All-Star roster for the first time in his eight-year MLS career. White has recorded 11 goals and one assist in 14 appearances this season; his goals per 90 minutes ranks third best in the league.

Despite playing fewer games as he was away with the National Team, White ranks top 10 in goals scored this year in the MLS. White leads the Whitecaps in scoring, who sit No. 2 in the Western Conference, just one point behind San Diego FC in first place.

White, 29, has proved to be a threat for Vancouver the last few seasons, scoring 15 goals back-to-back in 2023 and 2024. Now, he’s garnering recognition as a first-time All-Star in his seventh season.
