Eight Major League Soccer players celebrated their inclusion in the U.S. Men's National Team roster for its upcoming June friendlies with big games, goals and assists last week.

Charlotte FC striker Patrick Agyemang led the way with three goals in two matches, while Vancouver Whitecaps forward Brian White wasn’t too far behind with a brace.

After his first call-up to the squad, Quinn Sullivan contributed a goal for the Philadelphia Union. He also up a goal in a Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup win.

Diego Luna scored one goal and set up another for Real Salt Lake in a league loss, Luca de la Torre started off San Diego FC's comeback win in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, and defender Miles Robinson scored a rare goal in a FC Cincinnati loss.

A pair of first-time call-ups to the USMNT - Vancouver's Sebastian Berhalter and Orlando City SC's Alex Freeman - also recorded assists for their respective sides.

THREE-GOAL WEEK

Striker Patrick Agyemang completed a memorable three-goal week for Charlotte FC in two competitions. He tallied a goal in a 3-3 draw, which ended in a 2-1 penalty kick defeat at D.C. United in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, May 21. He made sure his team avoided a loss in MLS action on Saturday, May 24, striking twice in a 3-2 home win over the Columbus Crew that snapped a five-game losing streak. Agyemang turned the game on its head during a five-minute span in the opening half. After Columbus took the lead, he equalized at 1-1 in the 19th minute, putting a Pep Biel corner kick past goalkeeper Nicholas Hagen. Five minutes later, Agyemang was at it again, running onto Wilfried Zaha's through-ball before burying it to give the hosts a 2-1 lead.

The 24-year-old Agyemang has connected for five goals in his last six games across all competitions, including three consecutive matches. He has scored nine goals across three competitions - MLS (5), Open Cup (2) and USMNT (2). Charlotte (7-7-1, 22 points) sits in seventh place in the Eastern Conference.

SWEET 16

It's not yet June, and Vancouver Whitecaps forward Brian White already has celebrated 16 goals across all competitions. His latest two strikes came during a five-minute span, in a 3-2 triumph over Real Salt Lake on Saturday, May 24. With Vancouver trailing 2-0 early on, White first found the net, heading home Sebastian Berhalter's corner kick past goalie Rafael Cabral from seven yards in the 20th minute. He equalized at 2-2, converting a penalty kick in the 25th minute.

White is second in the MLS Golden Boot race, behind only the Philadelphia Union's Tai Baribo (13 goals). He also has five goals in the Concacaf Champions Cup and one with the USMNT. He has scored double-digit in MLS goals for Vancouver in a club-record four seasons (2021, 2023-25). No other Whitecap player has accomplished that more than twice. The Whitecaps (9-1-4, 31) continue to lead the MLS Western Conference, by four points over San Diego FC (8-4-3, 27).

EARLY BIRD

Diego Luna did his damage quite early in Real Salt Lake's 3-2 home loss to the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday, May 24. Only 50 seconds into the match, the midfielder set up Zavier Gozo's score with a through-ball, the seventh quickest goal in club history. In the fourth minute, Dominik Marczuk sent a right-flank cross that was spilled by keeper Yohei Takaoka, which Luna half-volleyed into an open net to boost RSL into a stunning 2-0 lead. It was Luna's team-high eighth goal. RSL (4-9-2, 14) is in 12th place in the MLS Western Conference.

ONE OF EACH

Quinn Sullivan started his week by assisting on Indiana Vassilev's goal in the Philadelphia Union's 4-1 home triumph over the Pittsburgh Riverhounds in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, May 21. That gave Philly a 2-0 advantage a minute into a first-half stoppage time. In MLS action on Saturday, May 24, his seventh-minute goal past goalkeeper Oscar Ustari lifted the hosts into a 1-0 edge in what turned into a 3-3 home draw with Inter Miami CF. Sullivan has two goals and seven assists for the Union (9-3-3, 30), which leads the Eastern Conference.

NICE RETALIATION

Only seconds after Diego Fagundez lifted the LA Galaxy into a 1-0 lead in the 40th minute, Luca de la Torre equalized as San Diego SC went onto record a 2-1 win over the defending MLS champions. Jeppe Tverskov threaded a ball through a defender's legs to de la Torre, who finished past goalie Novak Micovic for a 1-1 deadlock in the 41st minute. It was his third goal of the campaign. Second-place San Diego (27) improved to 8-4-3 in the Western Conference.

TAKING HIS FIFTH

FC Cincinnati center back Miles Robinson scored the fifth goal of his MLS career in a 4-2 away defeat at Atlanta United on Sunday, May 25. Robinson, 28, who has played in 161 league matches, headed in Evander's corner kick, from seven yards, past goalkeeper Brad Guzan to pull the visitors within 2-1 in the 48th minute. FC Cincy (9-4-2, 29) trails Philadelphia (9-3-3, 30) by a point in the Eastern Conference.

ON FIRE

Brandon Vazquez connected for his fifth goal in five contests, starting hosts Austin FC to a 3-1 victory over the Houston Dynamo in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 match on Wednesday, May 21. Jon Gallagher sent in a cross to Vazquez, who flicked the ball over his shoulder and buried it from close range past goalkeeper Jimmy Maurer for a 1-0 advantage in the 29th minute. Vazquez has three goals in the Open Cup. Austin will travel to meet the San Jose Earthquakes in the quarterfinals on July 8 or 9.

HELPING OUT

Orlando City SC defender Alex Freeman assisted on Marco Pasalic's 17th-minute goal, which gave the hosts a 1-0 lead in its Round of 16 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match against Nashville SC on Wednesday, May 21. The visitors, however, rallied for a 3-2 win.

FALLING SHORT

The hopes of defenders Cameron Carter-Vickers and Austin Trusty of securing the Scottish double never materialized as Celtic lost in the Scottish Cup final to Aberdeen at Hampden Park on Saturday, May 24. Aberdeen won its first Scottish Cup in 35 years. The teams traded own goals in regulation and played to a 1-1 draw before Aberdeen won in penalty kicks, 4-3. Carter-Vickers went the entire 120 minutes, while Trusty was on the bench. Celtic clinched the Scottish Premiership title several weeks ago.

END OF THE LINE

Forward Alejandro Zendejas’ dreams of winning a fourth successive Mexican crown were dashed as Club América was eliminated from the Liga MX playoffs, dropping the Clausura final series to Toluca, 2-0. Club America lost by the same score on the road in the second leg on Sunday, May 25. The team’s season isn’t yet finished as Club América will meet Los Angeles FC and USMNT midfielder Timmy Tillman at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles on Saturday, May 31 for a spot in the FIFA Club World Cup. The winner will advance to the 32-team tournament and compete in Group D along with Flamengo (Brazil) Esperance de Tunis (Tunisia) and Chelsea (England).

HOW THEY FINISHED

The English Premier League concluded its season on Sunday, May 25. Here is how the USMNT players' clubs finished in the 20-team league:

Midfielder Tyler Adams completed his season with AFC Bournemouth in style, going the full 90 in a 2-0 shutout of visiting Leicester City, which already had been relegated to the Championship. Bournemouth (15-12-11, 56) finished in ninth place.

Left back Antonee Robinson also went the entire way in Fulham's 2-0 home loss to Manchester City. Robinson finished tied for fourth place with 10 assists, an excellent season for a defender, let alone any player. Mohamed Salah of PL champion Liverpool led the way with 18. Fulham (15-11-9, 54) took 11th place.

In a battle of champions, Crystal Palace played host Liverpool to a 1-1 draw. Defender Chris Richards played 90 minutes for Palace, which captured the FA crown last week. Goalkeeper Matt Turner watched from the bench against the Premier League winners. The team finished in 12th place with a 13-11-14 mark and 53 points.

FINISHING ON A WINNING NOTE

Christian Pulisic and Yunus Musah completed AC Milan’s disappointing Italian Serie A campaign on a positive note as the team blanked last-place Monza, 2-0, at San Siro in Milan on Saturday, May 24. The Rossoneri (18-11-9, 63), which failed to secure a spot in one of the 2025-26 European tournaments, finished in eighth place. Monza (3-26-9, 18) played in its final top tier game in at least a year as it has been relegated to Serie B. Neither player figured in the scoring. Pulisic completed the season with his finest all-around club campaign, with 17 goals and 12 assists across all competitions.

BACK IN ACTION

Center back Walker Zimmerman made his first appearance for Nashville SC since suffering a head injury at Charlotte FC on April 5 as he replaced Jeisson Palacios in the 73rd minute of a 2-1 road win over Toronto FC on Saturday, May 24.

LOOKING AHEAD

Three USMNT players will have an opportunity to win trophies this week.

On Wednesday May 28, midfielder Johnny Cardoso and Real Betis will meet Chelsea in the UEFA Conference League final at Stadion Wrocław in Wrocław, Poland. Cardoso sat out his team's 1-1 home tie against Valencia with an injury in Spain's La Liga on Friday, May 23.

On Sunday, June 1, forward Brian White and midfielder Sebastian Berhalter and the Vancouver Whitecaps will face Cruz Azul in the Concacaf Champions Cup final at Estadio Olímpico Universitario in Mexico City. In contrast to the rest of the competition, which had a two-leg format, the final is a one-shot deal.
