CHICAGO (April 11, 2025) – The U.S. Men’s National Team has learned the dates and venues for Group D as it begins its quest for the confederation championship at the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup.

The USMNT opens Group D play on June 15 when they take on Trinidad and Tobago at PayPal Park in San Jose, Calif. (6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT). Four days later, the U.S. faces Saudi Arabia at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas (9:15 p.m. ET/8:15 p.m. CT) and concludes the group stage against Haiti at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas (7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT).

“Overall, I’m excited about the draw,” USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino said. “This is an important opportunity for our team, not only to compete for our confederation championship but also to continue to build our understanding of the group and who will be able to help us be successful at the FIFA World Cup next summer.”

The USMNT has fared well against Trinidad and Tobago in the confederation championship, posting a perfect 5W-0L-0D record. Saudi Arabia has been the USA’s opponent seven times overall, and twice in international competition. Saudi Arabia defeated the USMNT 3-0 in the 1992 King Fahd Cup in Riyadh – the tournament which became the FIFA Confederations Cup–and again in the 1999 Confederations Cup, this time a 2-0 shutout for the United States. The U.S. has faced Haiti four times in Gold Cup group play, collecting a 3W-0L-1 record overall.

The 18th edition of the Concacaf Gold Cup is set to take place this summer across 14 stadiums in 11 metropolitan areas in the United States and Canada. The tournament will feature 16 men's national teams, including 15 from Concacaf and Saudi Arabia (guest nation). The final will be held on July 6 at NRG Stadium in Houston, marking the first time the Gold Cup Final will be played in the state of Texas.

ON THE WAY TO SAN JOSE

The United States are heading back to San Jose for the first time since 2019 and carry an undefeated 4W-0L-2D record in the city. The last two matches were played at PayPal Park, including a 6-0 win against Honduras in World Cup Qualifying on March 24, 2017.

IN ATX

The USMNT already has a very successful track record in the short history of Q2 Stadium, going 5W-0L-0D and not conceding a single goal. The home of Austin FC has hosted matches in three different official competitions, including the Concacaf Gold Cup, Concacaf Nations League and World Cup Qualifying. Most recently, the U.S. opened the Mauricio Pochettino era with a 2-0 shutout victory against Panama on Oct. 12, 2024.

AT JERRY’S WORLD

The USMNT is no stranger to AT&T Stadium venue has hosted the USA six times, all in official competition. Last year doubled the total with three matches played, including victories against Jamaica and Mexico to capture the 2024 Concacaf Nations League title and a 1-0 shutout win against Bolivia in the opening match of group play at Copa América. Overall, the U.S. holds an unblemished 6W-0L-0D record in Arlington.

GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY

This year’s edition of the Gold Cup represents the USA’s final participation in an official competition ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Alongside Canada and Mexico, the three host countries for the World Cup receive automatic entries. The USMNT will seek its eighth confederation championship trophy, having won the inaugural tournament in 1991 before being crowned regional champion again in 2002, 2005, 2007, 2013, 2017 and 2021.
