CHICAGO (March 13, 2025) – The U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team will head to San José, Costa Rica from March 18-25 for two matches against Costa Rica on March 22 and 24. U-17 MNT head coach Gonzalo Segares has called up 20 players for the training camp.

This camp is the U-17 MNT’s first gathering since qualifying for a record 19th FIFA U-17 World Cup at last month’s Concacaf U-17 Qualifiers, also held in Costa Rica. Four players return from that competition, while nine players will make their first appearance with the U-17 MNT.
Segares has called up 19 players born in 2008 and one born in 2009- Borussia Dortmund forward Mathis Albert. Players born on or after Jan. 1, 2008 are age-eligible for this fall’s U-17 World Cup in Qatar.

The roster features players from 10 Major League Soccer clubs, led by two players each from FC Dallas, Houston Dynamo FC, LA Galaxy and the New York Red Bulls. Additionally, midfielder Logan Moniz plays at MLS Next club FC Boston Bolts. Five players are based abroad in Germany (three players) and Portugal (two).

Costa Rica also qualified for the expanded 48-team U-17 World Cup at last month’s qualifying competition and will make its 11th appearance at the age group world championship this November.
