CHICAGO (Oct. 3, 2024) – The U.S. Under-19 Men’s Youth National Team will face Sweden on Oct. 11 and Japan on Oct. 15 during a training camp from Oct. 7-15 in Valencia, Spain.

Players born on or after Jan. 1, 2006 are age-eligible for this one-year U-19 MYNT cycle and head coach Michael Nsien called up nine players born in 2006, 10 born in 2007 and one in 2008- Charlotte FC forward Nimfasha Berchimas. All players are age-eligible for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile.

The roster features players from 11 Major League Soccer clubs, led by two each from Orlando City SC and the Philadelphia Union.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

  • Four players are based abroad in Germany (two), England and the Netherlands (one each).
  • Two players come from USL Championship clubs: Sacramento Republic FC’s Chibuike Ukaegbu and the Tampa Bay Rowdies’ Nate Worth.
  • Four players were a part of last month’s 26th International Football Tournament in Niigata, Japan with the U-18 MYNT. Nsien led the U-18s and Andrew Baiera, Colin Guske, Harbor Miller and Neil Pierre were on the team that defeated Peru 2-0 and fell 4-3 to Japan.
  • Seven players represented the U.S. at this summer’s Concacaf U-20 Championship. Nsien coached the squad, while Nimfasha Berchimas, Duran Ferree, Keyrol Figueroa, Zavier Gozo, Stuart Hawkins, Cruz Medina and David Vazquez helped the U.S. to a runner-up finish and a World Cup berth.
  • Vazquez led the USA in scoring at the tournament with three goals, while Berchimas also netted twice.
  • Eight players represented the USA at the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Indonesia, helping the U.S. reach the knockout stage before falling to eventual champion Germany: Berchimas, Ferree, Figueroa, Hawkins, Medina, Reid-Brown, Rudisill and Vazquez.
  • Eight are on MLS Homegrown contracts: Baiera, Berchimas, Hawkins, Medina, Miller, Reid-Brown, Andrew Rick and Vazquez.
  • Berchimas scored at Inter Miami FC II on Sept. 29, his sixth goal of the MLS NEXT Pro season.
  • Ferree joined FC Nordsjaelland on loan for the rest of 2024 on Sept. 28.
  • Forward Jykese Fields tallied in the last two games for Hoffenheim U-19, bringing his season total to nine goals.
  • Gozo has netted in the last three games for Real Monarchs, most recently vs. Portland Timbers 2 on Sept. 29.
  • Medina has scored his first two goals of the MLS NEXT Pro season in the last two games for The Town FC, most recently vs. LAFC 2 on Sept. 29.
  • Miller tallied his first goal of the season on Sept. 29 vs. St. Louis City SC II.
