CHICAGO (March 5, 2024) – The U.S. Women’s National Team will play two matches in June against the Korea Republic in what will be the first matches on the bench for new USWNT head coach Emma Hayes.

The USA will play Korea Republic in Commerce City, Colorado on June 1 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park (3 p.m. MT / 5 p.m. ET on TNT, Universo, Max and Peacock) before moving on to St. Paul, Minnesota for a June 4 match at Allianz Field, which will be presented by Allstate (7 p.m. CT / 8 p.m. ET on truTV, Universo, Max and Peacock).

Both matches will take place at the home stadiums of Major League Soccer clubs, the Colorado Rapids and Minnesota United FC, respectively. The USA’s most recent match against Korea Republic was also at Allianz Field, in October of 2021, a 6-0 win for the USA.

In the coming weeks, U.S. Soccer will announce the final two matches for the USWNT which will take place in July before it leaves for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

“It will be exciting for everyone to have Emma on board for the June games,” said U.S. interim head coach Twila Kilgore, who will join Hayes’ staff as an assistant coach upon her arrival in the USA. “We need as many quality games as we can get heading into the Olympics and Korea Republic will provide good tests. While we will be watching every game our players play in their club environments over the next three months, the matches in Colorado and Minnesota are the final international matches before the Olympic Team is chosen, so they will carry that extra edge.”

Additional Notes:

  • The June 1 match will mark USA’s eighth game at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park and ninth overall in the Denver area. The USA has never lost at DSGP and the only blemish was a wild 3-3 tie with Japan in June of 2016. The most recent USWNT game at the venue was a 3-0 win over Colombia in June of 2022 as home state hero Sophia Smith scored twice.
  • The USA currently has three key players in the player pool who hail from Colorado in Smith, Lindsey Horan and Mallory Swanson.
  • This will be just the third match for the USWNT at Allianz Field, after playing there in 2019 and 2021 (which was Carli Lloyd’s Farewell Match), but the return to Minnesota marks a return to the roots of the U.S. Women’s National Team program. The USWNT played its first nine domestic games in Blaine, Minnesota over 1986 (2 games), 1987 (4 games) and 1990 (3 games) at what was then the Blaine Soccer Complex and then the National Sports Center.
  • The USA played a total of 13 matches in Blaine between 1986-2006, did not return to Minnesota until 10 years later in 2016 for a match at U.S. Bank Stadium, home of the Minnesota Vikings, and then played those two matches at Allianz Field after Minnesota United FC joined Major League Soccer in 2017 and completed its soccer-specific venue in 2019.
  • South Korea has qualified out of Asia for the past three Women’s World Cups. The most recent matches between the USA and the Taegeuk Ladies were a pair of friendlies in October of 2021, which resulted in a 0-0 tie in Kansas City, Kansas and a 6-0 win in St. Paul, Minn.
