• Johnson currently holds the longest shutout streak in USMNT history at 759 minutes. The only goal he has conceded came eight minutes into his USMNT debut, a 1-1 draw with Chile on Jan. 22, 2011. Since then, Johnson has also contributed a record 10 consecutive team shutouts and earned a joint-record six straight shutouts of his own when he’s played the full 90 minutes.

• Walker Zimmerman captains the USMNT for the ninth time tonight.

• Five players appeared in the last meeting with Mexico – a 0-0 draw in World Cup Qualifying on March 24, 2022, at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. Kellyn Acosta, DeAndre Yedlin and Walker Zimmerman started the match, before Aaron Long and Jordan Morris came on as substitutes.

• Jordan Morris is the only player on the roster to have scored against Mexico, with the forward tallying his first international goal while still a student at Stanford University in a 2-0 friendly win on April 15, 2015, in San Antonio.

• Sergiño Dest made his senior team debut against Mexico, starting on Sept. 6, 2019, in East Rutherford, N.J.

• Bryan Lopez of Guatemala is the referee for tonight’s match. The USMNT is 1-1-0 in matched officiated by Lopez which include the 3-0 defeat to Venezuela in a friendly on June 9, 2019 in Cincinnati, and the 1-0 win against El Salvador in World Cup qualifying on Jan. 27, 2022 in Columbus, Ohio.
