CHICAGO (June 2, 2022) -- U.S. Soccer has announced a three-year partnership extension with KT Tape, making it the Federation’s official kinesiology tape supplier to support the recovery needs of all its National Teams.

Based in Utah and founded in 2008, KT Tape has revolutionized the sports performance industry with the introduction of the most advanced and recognized kinesiology tape and recovery products.

“We’re thrilled to extend our longstanding relationship with KT Tape,” U.S. Soccer Director of High Performance Rick Cost said. “KT Tape has been a great partner to us in ensuring that our athletes are consistently equipped with some of the most trusted kinesiology recovery tools available, and we’re proud to reach over a decade of continued collaboration through this agreement in the coming years.”

In addition to supplying the kinesiology tape needs of the U.S. Men and Women’s National Teams, Youth National Teams and Extended National Teams, KT Tape will meet annually with U.S. Soccer’s medical staff to increase product education and enhance collaboration.

“KT Tape is proud to continue to support the incredible athletes at U.S. Soccer on and off the field,” said KT Tape CEO & President Greg Venner. “We’re excited to contribute to a long-standing legacy of competitive excellence by helping all levels of players to succeed from youth to professionals.”

As part of the agreement, executed by Soccer United Marketing (SUM), U.S. Soccer’s partner for more than 15 years, KT Tape will activate on-site at multiple U.S. Soccer matches this year, beginning with their presence at FanHQ on June 10 during the Men’s National Team match against Grenada at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas.

“Soccer United Marketing is proud to facilitate this multi-year relationship between U.S. Soccer and KT Tape,” said SUM EVP of Partnership Marketing, Jen Cramer. “We are excited to continue our partnership and look forward to working closely with KT Tape to provide recovery tools to our top athletes for many years to come.”

Widely popularized during the 2008 Olympics, KT Tape is an elastic sports tape designed to provide drug-free pain relief and lightweight support to muscles, tendons and ligaments while allowing for full range of motion. KT Tape is durable for multiple days of wear and resistant to water and sweat.

KT Tape and U.S. Soccer initially signed a multi-year agreement in 2014 which included the time period spanning the 2014 Men’s World Cup, the 2015 Women’s World Cup, and the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil. The two organizations then signed a three-year partnership extension in 2017 which took U.S. Soccer through the 2019 Women’s World Cup and the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. Currently, U.S. Women’s National Team defender Kelley O’Hara is part of KT Tape’s Athlete Ambassador lineup.

“KT Tape is a wonderful brand to partner with,” said Kelley O’Hara. “Being a part of the KT Tape family means I have the best performance and recovery tools at my disposal to help me stay active and ready to perform on the field.”

Used by athletes across an array of sports and recognized as a leader in sports related drug-free pain and injury management, KT Tape’s mission is to develop breakthrough solutions to help enable athletes and fitness enthusiasts to perform at their best.
