Participant: Samantha – Age 8
Reason for selection: Samantha's love for soccer has given her this amazing opportunity to represent Volkswagen and the U.S. Soccer Team in the state of Minnesota. To be on the U.S. Team would be a dream come true for Samantha. She watches them play with the high hopes that someday she will be lucky enough to be on the field representing USA!

Who is your favorite U.S. Soccer player and why?
Alex Morgan because she is an awesome soccer player who helps the community and is a team player. She started young like me and I really look up to her.
Why do you love soccer?
It’s so fun! I love to be competitive and play with new and old friends. Forward and goalkeeper are my two favorite positions. When I get a goal for my team it feels so good and I also love protecting the goal for my team.
What is the most important lesson you have learned from playing sports?
Being a team player. If we work together my team is stronger.
What are you most looking forward to in 2022?
Summer fun with my family and hopefully no more COVID!
Who inspires you the most and why?
My mom and dad because they work hard to give me and my sister the opportunity to do the things we love to do. They love me so much and take good care of me.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
A doctor so I can help people who are sick and hurt.
What or who are you thankful for?
My family because they love me and we have so much fun together.
