Club competition is currently in full swing for the U.S. Women’s National Team players, who will reconvene for National Team duty next week in Ohio.

The latest week of action kicked off on Wednesday as Catarina Macario and Olympique Lyonnais began their UEFA Champions League campaign with a 2-1 road victory over Spanish side Levante in the first leg of the Second Round of Champions League play. Macario started and played 62 minutes in the victory as the series now heads to Lyon for the second leg on Wednesday, September 8. Macario followed up her Champions League showing with a goal and 90-minute performance in Lyon’s 6-0 victory over
Saint-Étienne in the opening match of league play. The U.S. midfielder opened the scoring in the 18th minute with an impressive run through the midfield which she capped off with a right-footed blast to the far post

In midweek NWSL action, OL Reign picked up its sixth win in seven outings with a 1-0 road victory over the Houston Dash. Alana Cook and Rose Lavelle played 90 and 89 minutes, respectively, for OL Reign while Jane Campbell made six saves and Kristie Mewis played all 90 minutes for the Dash in what was just their second home defeat of the year.

OL collected even more points from its road trip with a 1-1 draw at Racing Louisville on Saturday. Lavelle and Cook both went the full 90 minutes as the Reign extended their unbeaten streak to four consecutive matches. Houston bounced back from the midweek setback and drew the Orlando Pride, 1-1 on Sunday in Orlando. Campbell made three saves and Mewis played 90 minutes for Houston while Ali Krieger played all 90 minutes for Orlando and Ashlyn Harris went 62 minutes before leaving the game through the use of a concussion substitute.

NJ/NY Gotham FC and the Chicago Red Stars played to a scoreless draw on Saturday in Harrison, New Jersey. USWNT forward Carli Lloyd put in a 90-minute performance for the home side while Tierna Davidson, Casey Krueger and Mallory Pugh went the distance for Chicago, who is now unbeaten in its last three games.

The weekend closed out with another scoreless draw, this time between Kansas City and the North Carolina Courage. Goalkeeper and Kansas native Adrianna Franch made five saves while recording her first clean sheet for her hometown club while Casey Murphy finished with six saves for North Carolina. Lynn Williams tallied four shots – including a pair on target – in a 90-minute showing for the Courage.
