The latest episode of The U.S. Soccer Podcast features an important discussion on mental health with Dr. Jessica Bartley, the Director of Mental Health Services for the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee. May is Mental Health Awareness Month and through this conversation with Jordan and Charlie, Dr. Bartley provides valuable information on ways everyone who plays or enjoys the beautiful game can help combat the stigma around mental health, normalize conversations on the topic and better take care of themselves and others.
As part of U.S. Soccer’s Mental Health task force, Dr. Bartley also discussed the ways the Federation is working to raise awareness and provide mental health support to all its constituents, from youth players to National Team players, coaches, referees and even spectators. Many of those resources can already be found at RecognizeToRecover.org, U.S. Soccer’s Comprehensive Player Health and Safety Program.
