The goals haven’t come at as high a rate as he would have liked this season, but Josh Sargent scored a particularly big one on Friday tallying the game-winner in Werder Bremen’s 2-1 victory against Eintracht Frankfurt on Friday.
Sargent had a first-half goal nullified due to offside, so when Maxi Eggestein ever so slightly slipped him through the Frankfurt backline in the 62nd minute, he admitted he wasn’t sure if he should celebrate. Replays showed that Sargent just stayed onside before slotting an effort inside the lower, left post.

While only his third league of the season, Sargent has remained a near constant in the Bremen lineup, with manager Florian Kohfeldt praising the work rate of the 21-year-old striker throughout the campaign.
"For a striker, it’s always important to score,” Sargent said after the match. "Especially when you’ve put so much work in – I wanted to get that goal as a reward. It was a big relief."
Sargent's 59th Bundesliga appearance tied him with Danny Williams for 15th place among Americans in the league. His next Bundesliga goal will make him just the eighth USMNT player to hit double digits in the German top-flight. The triumph put Werder Bremen nine points clear of the automatic relegation zone.
Daryl Dike, 20, enjoyed a bountiful week for Barnsley in the English Championship, helping his team grab all six points. He scored his first goal for the club - an insurance goal in the 90th minute - in a 2-0 win against Stoke City on Wednesday. He followed that up by starting and playing 75 minutes in 2-1 victory at Millwall on Saturday.

USMNT center back Matt Miazga went the full 90 minutes as Anderlecht earned a big 3-1 victory against Standard Liege in Belgian Jupiler League play. The win pushed the club up to fifth place in the top-flight with five matches before the league splits into two and the “Championship” phase begins for the top half of the table. On loan from Chelsea, Miazga has appeared in 19 of 29 league matches for Anderlecht this season.
Midfielder Tyler Adams didn't figure in any of the goals, but he helped RB Leipzig rally from a two-deficit at home to register a 3-2 comeback victory at home against Borussia Moenchengladbach on Saturday.
Aron Johannsson, 30, connected for the equalizer in the 80th minute for Lech Poznan in its 2-1 victory over Warta Poznan on Friday. Johannsson, who played 89 minutes, has scored in both starts for the Polish Ekstraklasa side.
Sunday's Belgian match between Gent and Club Brugge was postponed due to positive COVID-19 tests by the latter side. That included goalkeeper Ethan Horvath. The game will be made up at a future date.
