CHICAGO (January 13, 2021) – As part of U.S. Soccer’s ongoing commitment to empowering young women and girls and continuing to grow women’s soccer in the United States and across the globe, this year’s SheBelieves Summit, presented by Deloitte, will take place virtually on Feb. 11 and 12.
With U.S. Soccer and Deloitte’s shared vision of inspiring the next generation, the 2021 SheBelieves Summit will provide college students and young professionals the opportunity to gain valuable insights through panels and workshops centered around the SheBelieves core pillars of Confidence, Career, and Community.
The Summit is part of U.S. Soccer’s overall SheBelieves platform, which is focused on providing women and girls the tools to pursue their dreams in sport and beyond. Now in its sixth year, U.S. Soccer has added additional SheBelieves programming, including the SheBelieves Internship Program and SheBelieves Online Academy to increase its reach and provide access to more young girls across the country.
“For more than 35 years, the U.S. Women’s National team players have inspired young girls with their impressive performance and success on the field,” said U.S. Soccer President and former USWNT player Cindy Parlow Cone. “In 2015, U.S. Soccer took that inspiration showcased by cheering young girls at countless matches over the years and created a focused, organized and impactful campaign focused on female empowerment with SheBelieves.
“I’m looking forward to being part of this year’s SheBelieves Summit and joining the amazing collection of speakers that will share their impressive stories of success and provide young women across the country with the tools and inspiration to achieve their goals.”
The two-day event will take place virtually with a goal to inspire through discussions featuring extraordinary role models and breakout sessions designed to provide attendees with hands-on experiences and tools for success.
Programming will include a Fireside Chat featuring former U.S. Women’s National Team star Abby Wambach and a Commissioner’s Conversation with NWSL Commissioner Lisa Baird and WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert. Panels will showcase a diverse group of women in varying fields from STEM to sports, including Parlow Cone. Daily breakout sessions will center around topics such as mastering virtual presentation skills, professional development and identifying personal and professional strengths.
Registration for the 2021 SheBelieves Summit is now open. The event registration fee is $15 plus service fees and includes access to the two-day virtual summit and a gift. Those interested in attending can register and preview the summit schedule at the SheBelieves Hub on ussoccer.com.
SHEBELIEVES INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
In collaboration with U.S. Soccer sponsors and partners, the SheBelieves Internship Program will offer internship opportunities for college-enrolled students, with an emphasis on careers and fields where women have been historically underrepresented.
In addition to the main internship role, the 8-to-10 week program will include a mentor to introduce and guide interns through their respective companies/organizations, biweekly video calls, an internship capstone project and a celebratory event at the end of the program. SheBelieves Interns will have access to networking and professional development opportunities with fellow interns across the country and individuals who are dedicated to personifying the SheBelieves ethos.

SHEBELIEVES ONLINE ACADEMY
The SheBelieves Online Academy is a self-guided digital learning tool for young women in pursuit of their career goals. Centered around topics of building confidence, communication and connections, the SheBelieves Online Academy consists of free modules that can be utilized individually or within a group by using the provided facilitation guides.
Created in collaboration with Joan Kuhl, the author Dig Your Heels In, Founder of Stay to Lead (a global female talent retention and advancement program) and Why Millennials Matter (a certified woman-owned enterprise), the exercises, videos and articles incorporate real-life lessons with inspiration from current and former Women’s National Team players to provide women with tools that will help them thrive in their careers.
