Third time’s the charm! Making their third Women’s Super League appearance for Manchester United, U.S. Women’s National Team forwards Tobin Heath and Christen Press made the match a memorable one, each scoring their first goals since joining the Red Devils earlier this summer.

Heath scored in the 23rd minute and Press came off the bench to open her account in the 87th, helping Manchester United remain unbeaten in the league with a 4-2 win against West Ham United on Sunday.

Heath’s emphatic finish gave Manchester United a 2-0 lead in the 23rd minute and capped off a blazing run down the right wing. England international Alessia Russo gained control in the middle of the field and played a ball into the path of Heath. The two-time World Cup champion took a touch before blasting it far post with her right foot for her first goal since joining Manchester United in September.

Subbed off in the 62nd minute, Heath was dynamic on the right side all afternoon and played a key role in the build-up for Manchester United’s opening goal in the 20th minute. Heath previously tallied an assist in each of her first two league matches.

After entering the match in the 77th minute, Press found the scoresheet just 10 minutes later with a clinical finish at the back post. Lucy Stanforth served a free kick from just inside the attacking half that found Press at the back post and the USWNT veteran deftly one-timed it back across goal and in for her first of the WSL campaign.
