CHICAGO (March 4, 2020) – U.S. Soccer announced a multi-year partnership today with Chipotle Mexican Grill to become the official Mexican Restaurant of the Women’s and Men’s National Teams and the U.S. Soccer Development Academy.

Beginning last year, Chipotle launched its “Real Food for Real Athletes” campaign, which is focused on helping athletes of all levels – from youth players to Olympians – perform their best by providing proper nutrition through real food and ingredients for their athletic endeavors.

“Chipotle’s real ingredients are already powering many of the top male and female athletes on and off the field,” said Chris Brandt, Chief Marketing Officer at Chipotle. “Partnering with U.S. Soccer is a great way for us to share our passion for the game and authentically connect with soccer players at all stages in their development.”

As part of the partnership, executed by Soccer United Marketing (SUM), U.S. Soccer’s partner for more than 15 years, Chipotle will support the U.S. Women’s and Men’s National Team during their preparations for important upcoming competitions, including the 2020 Olympics and 2022 FIFA World Cup. Additionally, Chipotle will be present at the U.S. Soccer Girls’ and Boys’ Development Academy, which has more than 160 clubs and 17,000 players competing in more than 11,500 games across the country.

“U.S. Soccer is excited to partner with Chipotle and help drive its ‘Real Food for Real Athletes’ campaign that is focused on helping athletes at all levels create healthy eating habits,” Brian Remedi, U.S. Soccer Chief Administrative Officer. “From our senior Women’s and Men’s National Teams competing at the highest levels, to the more than 17,000 youth players participating in the Development Academy, eating healthy is an important part of player development. We are looking forward to having Chipotle be a constant in the lead up to the most important competitions we have coming up, including the 2020 Olympics and 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifying.”

U.S. National Team players Christian Pulisic, Julie Ertz, Rose Lavelle and Sebastian Lletget will be the face of Chipotle’s “Real Food for Real Athletes” campaign and help celebrate the importance of good nutrition on athlete development and performance. Chipotle will also work with U.S. Soccer to create and amplify content emphasizing the restaurant’s approach to preparing fresh food from real ingredients daily.

“Soccer United Marketing is proud to facilitate this multi-year partnership between U.S. Soccer and Chipotle,” said Carter Ladd, Senior Vice President of SUM. “We are always looking to establish partnerships with premium brands committed to making soccer the preeminent sport in America. We look forward to working with Chipotle to celebrate the beautiful game and to provide nutritious real food for soccer athletes across the country.”
