U-20 WNT LOOKS TO TOP GROUP C AT WCQ: The U.S. Under-20 Women’s National Team will close out group play at the 2020 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Championship on Wednesday, February 26 vs. Honduras (6 p.m. ET). The USA has enjoyed a strong start to World Cup qualifying, downing Cuba 9-0 and topping host Dominican Republic 4-0 in its first two matches. Honduras has struggled in Santo Domingo, dropping its first two results by a combined score of 13-1. The U.S. has already clinched a berth in the knockout stage, as the top three teams from each group advance to the Round of 16. The young Americans will be looking to lock up the top spot in Group C with a win over Honduras.

The USA has faced Honduras just once at this competition, a 7-0 win at the 2015 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Championship, hosted by Honduras. Current WNT forward Mallory Pugh netted two goals in the match.
Honduras qualified to the tournament as the 8th-ranked team in the Concacaf Women’s U-20 ranking.
The Honduras roster features five players born in 2000, five born in 2001, three born in 2002, three born in 2003 and four born in 2004. The players born in 2003 and 2004 are also eligible for the 2020 Concacaf Women’s U-17 Championship.
All 20 of Honduras’ players are based domestically, with the most, six, playing at CD Marathon in San Pedro Sula.

Mia Fishel’s six goals in two games lead the entire tournament so far
Six players have scored for the USA at the 2020 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Championship: Fishel (6), midfielders Brianna Pinto (3), Alexa Spaanstra and Summer Yates as well as forwards Rebecca Jarrett and Samantha Meza.
Eight players have recorded an assist for the USA: defenders Maycee Bell, Brianna Martinez and Kennedy Wesley, midfielders Pinto, Spaanstra (two) and Yates, as well as forwards Jarrett and Trinity Rodman (four).
With her 34th U-20 appearance vs. Dominican Republic, Pinto moved into a tie for sixth all-time in U-20 caps. Maya Hayes holds the record with 43 U-20 appearances.
Pinto is the only player to play all 180 minutes for the USA in the tournament thus far.
The USA has recorded shutouts in its first two games at this tournament for the first time since the 2014 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Championship.
The USA’s +13 goal differential through its first two games is its largest at this tournament since 2008.
