Starting Lineup:

• Alyssa Naeher will earn cap No. 48 tonight. She achieved her 26th career shutout vs. Thailand on June 11. This is her first World Cup and her second World Cup start as she was in goal for USA victory against Thailand.

• Ali Krieger will play in her 14th World Cup match today. Krieger earned her 100th cap on May 16 against New Zealand as she came off the bench at halftime and became the 38th U.S. WNT player to hit 100 games. This is her first start and first match of this World Cup.

• Abby Dahlkemper has started 36 of her 41 caps and played her first World Cup match on June 11 vs. Thailand. She played in 17 games last year, starting 16, and played the full 90 in 12 of them. This is her first World Cup.

• Becky Sauerbrunn became the 20th player, and just the third player who has played exclusively defender, to play 150 times for the WNT her start against France on Jan. 19. She currently has 158 caps and since 2014 has started 104 of her 109 caps. She was held out of the World Cup opener on June 11 due to a minor quad issue. This will be her first start in this World Cup. Sauerbrunn has been on three World Cup teams with the USWNT.

• Tierna Davidson will make her World Cup debut by starting today’s match. She youngest player to start a Women’s World Cup match for the USA since Tiffany Roberts on June 25, 1995 vs. Norway at the 1995 WWC in Sweden. Additionally, Davidson will be the 6th player under the age of 21 to start a WWC game for the USA, joining Julie Foudy (’91), Mia Hamm (’91), Kristine Lilly (’91), Tiffany Roberts (’95) and Holly Manthai (’95).

• Julie Ertz has scored 18 career goals and will make her 11th start of 2019. This marks her 84th international appearance and this is her second World Cup. She started every game for the U.S. WNT at the 2015 World Cup. She will be playing as a defensive midfielder in today’s game.

• Morgan Brian will see action for the first time during this World Cup today. Brian returned to fitness just in time make her second Women’s World Cup Team. She played in 12 games in 2018, starting seven, but has played in just one match this year, going 90 minutes in the first game of the year against France. She has 82 career caps and six goals at 26-years-old.

• Lindsey Horan will make her second World Cup start today. She made her World Cup debut against Thailand and scored her first World Cup goal, giving her nine in 69 games for her career. She is one goal away from reach 10 for her career.

• Mallory Pugh will make her first World Cup start. She came off the bench against Thailand and scored her first World Cup goal. Pugh scored in her senior team debut (the 19th U.S. WNT player to score in her first cap) on Jan. 23, 2016, vs. Ireland at 17 years, 8 months and 25 days old, becoming the youngest player to debut for the U.S. in the previous 11 years. Since then, she has earned 54 total caps.

• Carli Lloyd is the captain for the USA in today’s matchup against Chile. This will be the fifth time she has captained the team in a World Cup. She was captain for four games in 2015. This is also Lloyd’s 20th World Cup match, making her sixth all-time in World Cup matches for the USA, moving her past Christie Pearce and Brianna Scurry. She will earn cap No. 275 tonight. Lloyd's goal against Thailand was her eighth in a WWC match, tying her with Mia Hamm, Kristine Lilly and Alex Morgan for the third-most by an American.

• Christen Press came off the bench against Thailand and once again caused havoc, picking on Alex Morgan’s third goal. Press now has 117 caps, 48 career goals and 30 career assists. She also leads the USA in assists this year with seven. She is tied for 11th place on the all-time WNT goals list. This is her second Women’s World Cup with the senior team.

• This will be the first-ever match for the U.S. Women’s National Team in Paris.
