CHICAGO (June 11, 2019) – U.S. Men’s National Team defender Tyler Adams has been forced to withdraw from the roster for the 2019 Gold Cup due to injury. Following further evaluation in New York City, the 20-year-old has been diagnosed with acute on chronic groin issues that will require a minimum of 6-8 weeks recovery period.

FC Dallas defender Reggie Cannon has been added to the 23-player roster and will report to Minneapolis on Tuesday. The team resumes training June 12 in advance of its opening match of Group D against Guyana on June 18 at Allianz Field, a venue that set the record for the fastest sell-out in tournament history (10 p.m. ET; FS1, UniMas & UDN).

Per tournament regulations, a player may be removed from the roster due to injury up to 24 hours prior to a team’s opening match. The replacement must come from the 40-player provisional roster, which was due no later than May 16 to Concacaf.

Following the Guyana match, the U.S. moves east to face Trinidad & Tobago on Saturday, June 22 at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland before closing group play against Panama on Wednesday, June 26 at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kan.

Fans can follow all the matches on U.S. Soccer's official Facebook, Twitter (@USMNT) and Instagram (@USMNT) accounts.
