Last week, U.S. Soccer announced a partnership with Rapinoe and the Shasta Regional Community Foundation to raise awareness and funds for relief efforts to aid the victims of the Carr Fire that severely affected a large swath of Northern California, including areas in and around Rapinoe’s hometown of Redding, Calif. Those efforts have raised more than $70,000 so far and fans can continue to donate at https://www.shastarcf.org/funds/carr-community-fund.

Rapinoe will still join U.S. team in camp for further evaluation of the injury. Both matches against Chile will feature support for the initiative with in-stadium public address announcements and LED field boards.

In addition, at the match in San Jose, U.S. Soccer will host a group from the Redding area who were impacted by the fire. Before the game, a first responder will be honored to represent all those who battled the blaze, which was the seventh largest in California history and most destructive in Shasta County history.
