More Soccer in Communities and Schools
More Soccer in Communities and Schools
To grow the game, we need to embed soccer into our communities and education system so that soccer becomes part of our children's sporting culture early on. We want to bring soccer to where the kids are, because we know soccer is more than a sport, it is a force for good.
Based on feedback from membership, the Soccer Forward Foundation is prioritizing efforts to bring soccer to local community programs and more schools by developing tools for you to use in your own community.
We are rolling out a suite of coalition and advocacy tools and case studies from around the country that show how soccer can benefit students and young people with examples of ways schools can program soccer in all its forms — and how those kids and their families can become connected into your local soccer pathways.
- Advocacy: Providing digital assets to support your interactions with school boards, elected officials, and foundations
- Coalition Building: Ensuring those bringing soccer to their communities, including clubs, leagues, members, sponsors, and donors are working together to drive common outcomes
- Best practices: Sharing learnings, tools, case studies, and research from programs — including those that have been funded by our ITG grants
Given the excitement for the FIFA Men’s World Cup in 2026 and the Olympics in 2028, the opportunity is now to rally support for more soccer in our communities
