CHICAGO (Sept. 7, 2018) – The fall Kickoff Series is now complete with the U.S. Men’s National Team set to host 20th ranked Peru at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Conn. (7:30 p.m. ET). ESPN2, UniMas and UDN will broadcast the match.

Peru will be the fifth team in the FIFA Top 20 to face the MNT in the Kickoff Series, joining Brazil (3), England (6), Colombia (14) and Mexico (16). The six-match set will provide the aspiring young U.S. side with top-level competition at the start of the four-year journey. [KICKOFF SERIES TICKETS]

The Kickoff Series begins with the United States facing five-time World Cup champion Brazil on Sept. 7 at MetLife Stadium. USA-Brazil, presented by Liberty Mutual Insurance, will include stars Neymar, Philippe Coutinho and Thiago Silva [FULL BRAZIL ROSTER].

Four days later, the 68th edition of one of the region’s greatest rivalries takes place at Nissan Stadium in Nashville. Kickoff for USA-Mexico, presented by AT&T, is set for 7:30 p.m. CT and will be broadcast live on ESPN and Univision.

RESTART UNDERWAY
With the 2022 cycle officially underway, the process of elevating a rising crop of internationals is already in motion. Since November of last year, a total of 18 players have been given debuts for the senior MNT. Seventeen of them came in under 24 years old at the time of their first caps, while 10 will be age-eligible to represent the U-23 MNT in the CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying tournament and 2020 Summer Games in Tokyo. ussoccer.com has profiled 11 of these hopefuls in the new video series RISING: Emerging Faces of the U.S. Men’s National Team, which chronicle the route of players on their quest to become a part of the National Team by going behind the scenes with family, youth, coaches, teammates and professional club managers from across the world. [WATCH SERIES]

USA-PERU RETURNS
The United States and Peru will face off for only the third time since 2000 when they step on the field in October. The USA holds a 3-2-1 edge in the all-time series which began in 1989 in East Rutherford, N.J., site of USA-Brazil.

Five of six previous meetings have taken place in the United States. In 2015, a pair of goals from Jozy Altidore paced the MNT to a 2-1 win on Sept, 4, 2015, at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C. The previous encounter took place more than 15 years prior, when the U.S. defeated Peru 1-0 in Miami in the group stage of the 2000 Gold Cup, with Cobi Jones scoring the game-winner.

EXCEPTIONAL IN EAST HARTFORD
The MNT holds a 4-1-1 record in East Hartford, the stadium having hosted matches in both World Cup Qualifying and the Gold Cup, as well as the farewell to Landon Donovan against Ecuador in 2014. Most recently, a Kellyn Acosta free kick lifted the USA to a 2-1 win against Ghana in the final tune-up match before the march to the 2017 Concacaf Gold Cup title.
