Coaching staff adds flair to #USWNT rooms in Canada

Coaching staff adds flair to #USWNT rooms in Canada

The United States Women’s National Team coaching staff wanted to help their players feel at home while in Canada for a few weeks during the FIFA Women’s World Cup. Collectively, they came up with the idea to provide some wall décor for the hotel rooms of their players. However, the wall art serves a purpose beyond just decoration. Each poster highlighted qualities of the players individually and also some phrases or key points head coach Jill Ellis and her staff wanted each player to focus on during the next month.

"The poster’s are different for every player,” explained USWNT Strength & Fitness Coach Dawn Scott. “Some are motivational, some are to build confidence and some relay technical tips to remember – or a coaching point that we’ve been working on.”

No two posters are the same, but every poster provides a sense of familiarity for the #USWNT players who are less than 48 hours away from the United States’ opening match of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015. Watch the USA open their World Cup against Australia live on Fox Sport 1 NBC Universo at 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT.
