• Today’s lineup averages 25.5 years of age and 45 caps per player, making it the youngest Starting XI for the USWNT since April of 2022.
• Colorado native Lindsey Horan will earn her 147th cap as she captains the USWNT for the 26th time in her career and the first time in her home state. Horan leads all field players with 653 minutes played this year and is second on the team in scoring with four goals in seven appearances in 2024.
• Jane Campbell will earn her eighth cap as she makes her first start for the USWNT since October 26, 2021, when she started and recorded a clean sheet against Korea Republic in St. Paul, Minnesota. The 2023 NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year, Campbell was originally named as an alternate to the 2021 Olympic Team but was promoted to the active roster when the IOC confirmed the roster expansion to 22 players. She did not see game action in Tokyo.
• Jenna Nighswonger is set to earn her eighth cap as she makes her sixth career start and fourth of 2024. The 2023 NWSL Rookie of the Year, Nighswonger made her international debut on Dec. 2, 2023, and has appeared in five of the USA’s eight matches so far this year and has scored two goals, both coming at the Concacaf W Gold Cup.
• Reigning U.S. Soccer Player of the Year Naomi Girma will make her sixth appearance – and sixth start – of the year as she earns her 32nd cap for the USWNT. Girma, who started the SheBelieves Cup semifinal vs. Japan but was forced to leave early due to injury, has played the full 90 minutes in 23 of her previous 31 cap.
• Catarina Macario is set to earn her 19th cap as she makes her first start for the USWNT in 781 days. Macario returned to the field for the USA on April 6 when she came on as a second-half substitute against Japan in the semifinal of the SheBelieves Cup, marking her first action for the USWNT in 725 days following a recovery from ACL surgery. Macario’s most recent start for the USA came on April 12, 2022, when she netted a brace in the USA’s win over Uzbekistan in Chester, Pa.
• Colorado’s Mallory Swanson will make her second start and third appearance of the year as she earns her 91st cap overall with the USWNT. Swanson, who will be playing in her fifth match for the USA in her home state, made her return to the field for the USWNT during the SheBelieves Cup after being sidelined for nearly a year due to injury, starting the semifinal against Japan and playing the second half of the final against Canada.
• Coming off a brace in the SheBelieves Cup final against Canada, Sophia Smith will make her ninth appearance and fourth start of 2024 as she makes her 47th international appearance. A Colorado native, Smith tallied a brace in her only other match with the USWNT in the Centennial State, scoring twice against Colombia on June 25, 2022.
• The three Colorado players in this starting lineup – Horan (Golden), Swanson (Highlands Ranch) and Smith (Windsor) – have scored 40 percent (22 of 55) of the USWNT’s goals since the start of 2023 and 37 percent (41 of 111) of the team’s goals since 2022.
• Tierna Davidson will make her sixth consecutive start for the USWNT and seventh of the year as she earns her 58th cap. Davidson has played every minute for the USA since the start of the Concacaf W Gold Cup quarterfinal against Colombia and is fourth on the team – and third among field players – with 570 minutes played.
• Midfielder Sam Coffey will make her eighth start of the year, tied with Lindsey Horan for the most by any player this year, as she earns her 16th cap for the USWNT. Coffey will be making her seventh consecutive start – by far the longest streak of her career – and already has more caps in 2024 than in her previous two years with the USWNT combined.
• Trinity Rodman will make her ninth appearance and seventh start of 2024 as she earns her 37th cap for the USWNT. Rodman led the USA with 10 total goal involvements in 2023 and will have now appeared in every match for the USWNT since the start of 2023 and is making her 27th consecutive appearance, the longest streak by any USWNT player since Christen Press appeared in 33 consecutive games from 2019 to 2020.
• Emily Fox will earn her 48th cap for the USWNT as she makes her seventh start of 2024. Fox has played the second-most minutes of any field player for the USA in 2024 with 597 minutes of action. Fox has been a consistent starter for the USWNT since October 2021, a streak that started when she went the full 90 minutes against Korea Republic on Oct. 26, 2021, in St. Paul, Minnesota.
